Great food with a fantastic view. Portions are very ample. The bread basket and the charcuterie tray themselves are more than enough to serve two hungry people. Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5

Excellent views and atmosphere at this well situated restaurant right on Bodega Harbor. I like the food but I'd love it more if they were a little less creative/exotic with it. Very well cooked food though and attentive service. Price per person: $30–50 Food: 3 Service: 4 Atmosphere: 5

Views are truly stunning, and the location that allows for those vistas is very special. Aside from the visuals, it gets murky quickly. Because the lounge and restaurant adjoin the pricey lodging, parking can be challenging. Weather in the summertime on the north coast isn't exactly warm, often as not, which factored into our visit. We were visiting with my brother and sister-in-law and they took us for a drive over to the coast to escape the inland heat. Mission accomplished, but it was very breezy and almost too cold; or at least a big contrast from inland Santa Rosa. The outside patio area for the Fireside Lounge only had one of three firepits lit; not sure why, as it was perfect firepit...

"What is better to get away from the heat wave in sf and plan a day trip to Bodega. The day of work was well spent here had a nice time here enjoyed the day and was led to these restaurants by some nice locals. We were lucky to find parking in their property, it is not very much, but will easily be space for 15 cars perhaps? It also has space for disabled people. We ordered both fish and chips I took, and my husband took the halibut. We also ordered grilled oysters with bacon butter. There?s seating area outside and inside, there are many options of drinks lemonades and sandwiches and they have an amazing crabs nachos . I wanted to order it this way. I saw someone eat it and I was so jealous? Fish and chips were tasty, but they took a while for the grilled oysters, my husband had to remind them why they lost a star? The oysters are all right, I wouldn't. They are not like the Tamales Bay oysters (sweet version) they have more sea taste and texture. But otherwise I had a nice time here."

"Every sign and decoration in this location says the chowder is good and caution, you may become addicted. After a few less-than-stellar food experiences in Bodega over the past couple days, I was HIGHLY skeptical of this restaurant 's claims. There is a line, always, as far as I can tell until the very end of the day. The hours are early morning for fresh raw fish/seafood and midday until 4 or 5pm in the afternoon for served meals. We drove by at noon to a line around the corner and down the street. We came back at 3pm after a hike to a much shorter, but still wrapped around the shed, line. It took us about ~30 minutes to get up to the counter to order. We each got a clam chowder. Even though I wanted to split it because I didn 't want to be let down again by food I 'm Bodega Bay, my partner insisted we have our own. We also split a crab sandwich. OK. THIS PLACE IS ACTUALLY GOOD. (I will caveat this with...you have to like the taste of seafood. That is what 's served and that is what shines in each menu option). I was so so so happy. The white clam chowder was creamy. I don 't even think it had bacon in it (which a lot of chowders do) and yet it was perfectly salted. Perfectly creamy. Perfectly seasoned. Lots and lots of clams. THANK GOODNESS we each had our own. Yum yum yum yum. The crab sandwich was also the best I have had in my life. It was very simple. Loaded with 1/4 lb of crab meat and a light mayo-based sauce, on a bigger hot dog bun kind of role. It wasn 't dripping with sauce, it was just focused on enhancing the crab as the star of the show and oh my gosh was it ever. It was perfect. It was everything. We did grab a loaf of fresh French bread because everyone else was doing it, and I highly recommend as we ate half the thing by dipping pieces into our clam chowder. The bag says extra sour , I don 't know if I believe that, but it was really good sour French bread and I am glad we had that to scoop up all the clam chowder drops. This place is reason alone to go back to Bodega Bay for a day or weekend trip. Seriously. That good. If you are not convinced, I encourage you to keep your skepticism and be blown away."

"Since our last visit the menu has been severely ristricted, portions are extremely reduced, especially for the price. The paella for $24.00 was just a small 4-5 dish, the oysters were only three small oysters for $12.00. All of the dishes were served with no bread to soak up the wonderful juices. All in all the food tasted great,the service was great, and the wine was great but the portions for the price were lousy. Will have to think seriously if we will come back. Very disappointed. Also some of our previous favorites are not even available now but are listed on the comment section below."
