"Hoppys is in a great location with a cute little bar and cozy warm atmosphere. The place is clean and the staff friendly. When we were there it was later in the evening on the weekend and only a few other people there. The drinks were ... potent to say the least. If that's you're cup of tea, your in luck. The tequila drinks packed a punch. As for food; I'll give them the benefit of the doubt. The scotch egg was fantastic. Just ask for bbq sauce on the side. It's really not needed here. The 3 tacos I ordered were also good, but for the size of the shell they were not stuffed like in the pictures. Now for the bad. In a cantina Salsa and guac should always be freshly made, full of lime and salte...

Great quality food! Frequently awesome specials, like smoked beef brisket. And you've got to try thier Campfire Marguerita

The food is good enough, but a little pricey for the portions, especially apps. The exception is the burrito. Owner is friendly and chatty. Not recommended for families with young children, as the conversations and music can be inappropriately adult (and I'm no prude, but my daughter was uncomfortable so I won't bring her back if I return). It's more of a bar feel, and I would recommend for mature folk. Not really for a quiet night out. Margaritas are delicious and make up for the limited alcohol selection.Kid-friendliness: Not very kid friendly depending on music rotation and other customers as you're always in earshot of the bar , and inappropriate dialogue seems encouraged by staff. They...

"I visited Ale House recently once to have to have dinner with a friend and then to have dinner with my brother . I am a huge fan of this restaurant group. When I lived here previously) I patronized the Barking Dog at least once a week. I had also occasionally visited the Ale House and found it good. The two recent visits to Ale House we're disappointing. To start service was good, the staff where attentive, and made us feel welcome. The food was not as expected. The 1st meal, a Taco Salad, was very disappointing. It was a big bowl of romaine, a thin slab of chicken, a few tomatoes with a small amount of chili ranch dressing. Ultimately, once we tried to mix in our chicken there was not enough dressing. We both ate the chicken, the sparse amount of tomatoes and onion and left the nearly full taco bowl filled with romaine lettuce. I would not order this again. Of note, the salad was as described on the menu. I missed the fact there is a limited amount of ingredients. The salad was almost all romaine with very few other ingredients. Should the Ale House either add more ingredients to the salad or take it off the menu? Yes! My 2nd visit was 2 weeks later with my brother a big fan of Barking Dog too) who had never visited Ale hHouse. We ordered Fried Pickles which were good and arrived to our quickly. For our entrees we both had the Pork Dilla, which we both found disappointing. it was super smokey to the point we couldn't taste the pork. Again, the entree had the ingredients as listed. We both felt that the could have been additional ingredients like cilantro, scallions, sour cream, salsa and guacamole. It was super smokey, tasteless and not good. We both left at least 1/2 of the entrees. Thank god for the pickles. After considering this review, I believe the reason we found the meals less than acceptable is the limited ingredients and the Dilla was over spiced. In the end, I am not sure we will return, meals are not worth what we had to pay for them. This is sad as the other restaurants in this group are excellent. As a note my brother and I went to the Barking Dog the following night and it was excellent."
