Warm lighting, good dynamics for catching up. Reminds me of decor in my Italian grandma’s house (in a good way). La Locanda is one of those awesome neighbourhood Italian restaurant serving homely Italian food. I’ve had the lentil soup that’s so rich with flavours even though it’s just lentils.I also had the special spaghetti with swordfish and olives. Swordfish is fresh and tasty coupled with the rich tomato sauce over al Dente spaghetti.

Absolutely brilliant night here. My boyfriend’s order was delayed as part of a party of eight, but they more than made up for it with genuine apologies and a free bottle of wine. The food was delicious (definitely get the baked clams) and the staff was helpful and friendly. The owner stopped by our table several times and was an absolute delight. We originally came here because another restaurant screwed us of a table despite having a reservation, but it turned out to be a stroke of luck. We had an amazing night with fantastic food and great people. I cannot wait to come here again!

Adorable, cozy neighborhood spot with homestyle Italian American standards and an expansive wine list. Friendly, welcoming staff and very reasonable prices (two entrees, a side dish, a cocktail and two glasses of wine for under $45 per person). Thoughtful execution elevates the simplest offerings, like escarole with white beans: garlic and oregano sang balanced quietly perfectly in the background. My partner's and my entrees (chicken scarpielo and chicken francase) were beautifully executed, nothing extraneous (except maybe salt), nothing fancy. A wonderful option when the comfort and welcome of homestyle food would be welcome. Note: we were a little surprised that they only accept cash tips...
