"My family and I drove back from Yverdon to Bern and stopped for lunch in the impressive medieval town of Avenches. After a short walk around the old city of Geisterstadt quietly on a Sunday, we passed on the Arcades restaurant with its beautiful outdoor terrace down to the main road. I have a quick check of the interior and it looked good, but not so charming. After a delicious amuse boulevard of pickled Schovies on toast and a few simple green salads good dressing, we finally settled in wonderfully boiled fish dishes: the children and the husband had small portions of the famous Swiss sea fish egli perch in English, perch served in French with an excellent mixed herbal butter sauce. The children had served initial portions with boiled potatoes, man had the same but also with a few greens and some match stick frits allumette . I had the mackerel, which was very like Cerviche, also served with the strings and toast. Oh, we drank a very fine local beer bottle from Oleyres about four kilometers from Avenches. Very well to feel about the very well prepared, delicately served fish dishes, we went on desserts. Again it was three to one: I had a mouth that watered a small custard tetlet with berry. Again beautifully presented. The others hang with different ice creams all made locally. The service was perfectly the kind of professional service you used here: friendly, but not impractical. A charming male waiter and a beautiful female waiter. With water and a coffee it all rounded to just under CHF 200 Swiss price, but really an excellent Sunday dinner in a fantastic environment."

"Very good discovery with the GOURMET PASSPORT. Dogs welcome, free parking in front, 5 minutes walk from the lake (no view of the lake from the restaurant), vegetarians welcome. Nice welcome, smile, impeccable and attentive service, takes allergies into account, small choice for vegetarians. At my request, they gladly made me a plate of fries with fresh, local vegetables. Fresh and delicious mixed salad. Their specialty pork filet mignon with morel sauce, served with a nice mixed salad and unlimited fries, very good. Additionally served in a pretty casserole dish available on a stove with a heated plate to eat hot. Ask as you go if everything is okay and if everything is good. Really a great discovery, we enjoy it, we feel good there and we will happily return. For dessert I recommend their tasty vanilla flavored crème brûlée which is worth the detour. Thank you, we will come back with pleasure. Beautiful terrace for sunny days."

"in front of the name! we expected a small, picturesque restaurant with typical Swiss cuisine. instead we found Chinese dishes falling under French denominations yet eating was good and pleasant. the service that looked at the kitchen was something under stress due to unexpected affluence, was a little slow, but the servers tried their best to pick up all, and they wore a smile all in all, I can't say that we were disappointed. If we now know what to expect, we will visit again when in the opposite and when we feel like Chinese."
