"I visited this restaurant on a Saturday around noon. There were plenty of available seats and parking was no problem. I have been aware of this place for about 15 to 20 years, always catching a whiff of it while driving by, but I never actually dined here until now. Typically, if I am craving com tam, I would go to a pho place since San Jose is a bit of a hassle to drive to just for food. I decided to try the #7 dish, and to sum it up, it was really amazing. The egg cake, shrimp cake, and sugarcane were delicious, but the grilled shrimp stole the show with its perfect cook and juiciness. Surprisingly, I don't usually enjoy shrimp that much. The beef ribs were decent, but probably the least impressive part of the meal. The portions were generous, which is fitting for the price. The food was a bit salty, but still tasty. After 20 years of curiosity, my dream of dining at this restaurant finally came true, and it exceeded my expectations set by the inviting smell I always noticed while driving past."

"Can be hectic at times and they're a little on the pricey side, but they are consistently so good. Been coming for years and years and it's the best bagel in the neighborhood! Not the spot for hanging out and eating, but certainly fine for takeout. Spinach parm bagel sun dried tomato cream cheese is... magical."

"I discovered this place a month ago while I was on my new route, and I made an excuse to stop here since then. remy is the ultimate host, they service with a smile and make them welcome. he, nancy and devin make great sandwiches and create a really warm and friendly atmosphere. I liked this place and had planned to come back. but today the staff impressed me even more. I ordered one of her next-courts I hadn't tried before, and I personally wasn't too in there, so I had only a few bites. when I finished the rest of my meal and took my tablet back into the counter to say and go thanks, devin asked if I did not like the side I had ordered. I said I didn't like it so much, but that it was okay and that I would get something else next time. both he and remy immediately offered me something else on the menu I wanted. they knew I was a repeater and they wanted to take care of me well, even though I had only been there a few times. I said it was good and I didn't want anything, but they were super nice and said it was in the house. I'm always coming back here, and I encourage everyone to do that."

"Spectra Coffee came highly recommended by a friend, taking over the spot that was once a Starbucks. While my hot latte was enjoyable, I didn't quite grasp the excitement, as the coffee bean quality seemed similar to other high quality coffee brands – it's definitely a different league than Starbucks.My friend raved about their flavored lattes, which I might explore next time, though I aimed to savor the natural coffee quality before delving into any sweet flavors that mask the true richness.The pandan waffle that my friend ordered was tasty, but it didn't astound me, given its availability in several great Vietnamese bakeries around SJ.Also, the limited seating indoors could be attributed to the bustling Saturday afternoon crowd. We sat outside in the wind. I'm inclined to revisit Spectra, but it might not become an outing for me. Service was quite slow that day but they had a line; I’ll make a point to visit on a weekday to see if things improve slightly.Solid 4.5 stars"
