"Strangest dining experience of my life. Stopped here exhausted, after working in Cincinnati all day (three more hrs to drive until we're home. I'm still not sure what happened, but I think the server got offended that my husband asked for bread before she was ready to bring it because after that, every single part of our meal came to a screeching halt. Our dinner didnt come for almost two hours. There were only TWO other tables with people in there so the wait made no sense. The table next to us arrived an hour, 15 mins. after we did and were served at the same time we were finally served. When dinner finally came, we had to pack it up to go without eating it because we have three more hour...

I'm glad I stumbled upon this place. Italian restaurants are not my first pick, but this place was fabulous. The demeano of the building were rustic and very cool. Stuffed mushrooms were superb. The side salads were good. The bread sampler was more than adequate. The main dishes both tasted phenomenal. My cheesy potato pie slice was very unique. The service was spot on. The prices seemed very reasonable, especially for the quality. I have nothing other than praise for this restaurant. I can't wait to return in the future. "Stopped by when visiting my boyfriend while he was working out of town my experience was 10/10!!! I got the California panini which is usually served with turkey but today they had to make it with an egg. It was delicious! They also had real maple syrup for my iced coffee which was a great option for a sweeter. If I’m ever back in the area I will definitely be back."

"We had a dinner for 6 people. The wait time for food was very long we had several tables around us receive their drinks, apps, and entree's in the time it took for us to receive our apps. Our wives ordered the beef tenderloins at 60 dollars a piece. My wife ordered mid rare and my friend ordered hers medium. Both Tenderloins came out looking extremely well done with no pink. We requested they be re-done. When they came the second time they were extremely raw. We cut them again with the server at the table. The server was not able to distinguish the temperature of the steak from looking at it. I could tell they were under cooked when he set them down and they were jiggling. The server applied a AAA discount to the ticket to accommodate the poorly cooked steaks. I appreciate the consideration however I have AAA and the total discount only amounted to roughly $25 dollars of a $270 check. The atmosphere of the restaurant was nice and overall the experience should have or could have been great but missed the mark."

"I am in the process of moving from San Francisco to Boston, and am visiting a friend in Findlay while making The Grand Journey. They suggested going to this place as 'it is allegedly the only place in town with decent sushi, but I am skeptical '. Due to my experiences with independent restaurants in small towns in the US, I was skeptical as well, but decided to try it out. It may be worth mentioning that I have been to Japan and have had sushi so amazing that I have almost cried while eating it, and I have only ever lived in big cities my entire life where sushi is plentiful. Japan West in Findlay, OH is on par with my favorite sushi restaurants in Tokyo, and is definitely top 3 best sushi I have had in my life. I was floored. I understand the prices are high but I definitely think this is worth it. I am staying in Findlay longer than I had originally planned now just because I want to keep eating here. Customer service was exceptional. Quality of fish was INSANE. Seriously, all I did was order basic tekka and hamachi and I was instantly transported to Flavourtown. I wish I could rate Japan West higher than 5 stars."
