"our reservation was at 8:00, we arrived only after nine. that was good that we were sitting and they were so busy and seemed to support themselves. we ordered a suppe and an salate and a seafood tablet. about 10 o'clock we have the seafood tablet and never get our suppe and salat. the server said the kitchen was well secured. I understand the lack and the help and I had many great meals there, but in this night was a complete miss."

Even though I had reservations AND over $300.00 in credits, they would not let me order food to go. Ate at the Players Club instead. Don't know if I will dine here again.

Worst experience ever at this restaurant. The server was great but the food was undercooked. Even after sending our prime right back it was raw. Fortunately the manager took care of our bill which made sense since we didn’t need the food.

"Great steaks and good food. The food was a solid 4 stars. High quality steaks with a wide selection of sauces and good side parts. Very high final atmosphere typical of a beautiful steakhouse. Full service bar with handmade cocktails. Very large selection of wines. Expect to spend about $60/pp with a drink. It wasn't the best steak I had, but certainly worth a good meal."

"So the wife was across the street shopping and was eventually coming across to gamble so I sat and had a Jameson and then eventually I had to try one of their dark amber ales. The place is old which is part of its charm. You have to go downstairs to cash out but you can walk around the building from the street [not that far] but a useful note if you cannot do stairs. The gal that was serving at the bar upstairs was super friendly and she really adds to the whole nostalgic feel of the place. AND I GOT 4 OF A KIND! Wooo hooo."

"It offers a cozy fireplace to absorb heat and there is excellent food to enjoy. It's the Timberline Grill! Chef Philippe Georges has recently upgraded the menu to integrate the ideal of local cultivation. They worked with local dairies to bring their expert cheese. They use Colorado raised lamb, trout from our own Rocky Mountains and choice aged beef. We had the privilege of trying a sampler of their appetizers. A plate full of Jumbo Shrimp, smoked Trout Mousse, Crab Aspic and Lobster Salad . The Jumbo Shrimp was in Jumbo..."

"I have no clue why people have rated this place so high! It literally is one of the saddest restaurants as far as ambiance. Upon entry, the carpet alone made me want to follow Lucille herself right off the second story balcony (will get to that at the end). Looking around the place at the customers, I felt like I was at a 1970 church revival. The menu was expansive, and the special was a $12.99 prime rib with two sides. I decided to go for it even though a prime rib should never be under $20-30 in my opinion or I will assume something is severely wrong with it. My friends reminded me it 's a casino so they are trying to draw people in with cheap prices. Fair point. Speaking of friends they got the surf n turf and the hamburger. Listen. The prime rib was actually slightly better than the cheap price. My friends said the burger was fine and the surf n turf was below average . Server was super nice and apologetic for the few things that he forgot and we had to remind him to grab for us. We took a piece of cheesecake for the road. As we were leaving, I asked my friends who Lucille Malone was I wonder, and the lady checking us out had the story. Lucille threw herself off the balcony after her man got run over by a wagon and died. And the lady let us go to the balcony where this happened! Lucille, honey, no man is worth jumping off this balcony for ... but that carpet ... oof maybe that 's why she jumped. I 'm basically giving this place two stars for the history alone! Oh, and the cheesecake when we go back home? Ugh no. Not good. Don 't check it out, Blackhawk."
