"Feb 2022 UPDATE: The food is still wonderful and the staff is still incredibly sweet. We ate here on both segments of a family road trip, a few days apart, and when I ordered the same thing (huaraches con salsa roja) on my second visit, the señora asked me, vegano otra vez? I was thrilled to be remembered I 'm not especially notable looking, she is just that nice. She prefers to speak Spanish, and while my Spanish is still terrible, I 'm always delighted for the opportunity to practice without feeling like I 'm wasting someone 's time. My omnivore family also wants everyone to know that the meaty dishes are good too, so if you need to feed a mixed crowd, here you go. If I lived closer I 'd come here every week. JAN 2020 REVIEW: The food is terrific and the staff is so sweet. I 'm so glad people are finding this place through Happy Cow! I added it a few months ago and now that I 've been twice, it 's time to review. I leadfooted it up from San Luis Obispo and arrived ten minutes before closing, but the señoras were incredibly nice about it not only did they make me a splendid tacos dorados plate to go (crunchy tacos with beans and potatoes and pico de gallo, plus rice and beans), but they brought me a bowl of warm chips and salsa while I waited, *and* put up with my terrible Spanish. The chips are obviously homemade from homemade tortillas, and as golden and flaky as a good croissant (as are the shells of the tacos dorados). And the salsa is fantastic cool and spicy, with both tomatoes and tomatillos. Last time I was here I got the huarache essentially a long flat cornflour pancake stuffed with beans and topped with salsa verde and onions I am a huarache fan and it was one of the best I 've had. I also spent a long time mulling over the vegan menu, and when I ordered the huarache the server made sure I knew that it usually came with dairy cheese and that I could get it without. Sweet folks and great food. The other half of the business is a small grocery, so while you wait for your food you can stock up on local avocados or cacahuetes japoneses.
