"Quintessential dive. In a divey strip where people are sometimes laid out on the ground. Even though not the most desirable dining area, with maybe 4-5 tables, people do often squeeze in there, as fish n' chips are one of those foods that should be eaten as quickly from when it leaves the kitchen. Even a 15 minute wait for a drive home, will already decrease the optimum experience. So, I ate in one afternoon.8 Piece Wings $12/4* These were lightly battered wings, much lighter than the fish n' chip batter. Decent crunch and pretty juicy wings. No spicing or sauce or anything so quite plain. I had 2 there and it was crispy as heck. The ones I took home totally lost that delectable crunch. They are salvageable though through a reheat in an oven for about 10 minutes.Fish n' Chip and Shrimp Combo $18/4* They may have 2 types of shrimp here as they asked me what type. They said Jumbo? I said sho nuff. This thing comes right out of the fryer, so crazy hot and crunchy. I had to wait 20+ minutes for this small order cuz I think I got behind several call in orders. The fish didn't seem like cod to me but I'm not exactly sure as I didn't ask. I only say cod, as that is the common/traditional fish they use on that side of the Atlantic. This may have been Basa as the flesh was really smooth and silky. I liked it just fine, just an observation. But cod or haddock is my ideal fish for fish n' chips. The batter is much more prominent on the seafood, than it is on the wings. If you like a super crunch, then this should deliver, but like I said, don't wait too long to eat it or else it is on you. The shrimps were indeed a larger size and you got about 4-5 shrimps. Nice hearty bites and great shrimp flavor and texture. These are a very repeatable option. The fries are frozen steak cut fries. They fry them well with a nice crispness to the small cut ones. Perfect when doused with malt vinegar and salt. I actually crave these from time to time. But when these get cold, that is it, the pleasure will be all gone as it turns into a cardboard-y texture. This box even though a bit pricey at almost $20 bucks, is definitely quite split-able. I would hit this dive again for when that crisp fried food craving rears it's oily head. Which is about 3-4 times per year for me, which I'm totally fine with."
