"While I enjoy the pho and can agree that it's special, I'm more of a fan of other Vietnamese dishes and have tried many on Pho Bac’s menu. I particularly love their lemongrass tofu and lemongrass chicken stir-fry. My absolute favorites, though, are the golden crepe, which is a massive and delicious crepe filled with shrimp, herbs, and other tasty ingredients, served with a generous portion of leafy greens, basil, and a delightful light sauce on the side, as well as the grilled lemongrass chicken, which is perfectly spiced and cooked.
For appetizers, you absolutely must try the shrimp toast served on thick pieces of baguette and deep-fried, as well as the assorted appetizer platter, which features six different dishes—all delicious. It's a generous amount of food, enough to share among four people, and it's very reasonably priced.
Though we’re not huge dessert fans, we tried the flan and the Vietnamese yogurt, both of which were excellent. The restaurant has a full bar, including some local brews and a well-selected assortment of affordable wines. The owner, who is incredibly friendly, definitely enhances the experience.
Pho Bac is located in Canton and has several tables outside on the sidewalk, which is where we prefer to sit. Whenever we've been there at noon, we've never had issues finding a spot outside. We also haven’t had trouble finding street parking, just a short walk from the restaurant. If you haven't tried Pho Bac yet, you owe it to yourself to do so!"
