"One of the best restaurants in Anchorage! Cozy, romantic vibes with attentive service and excellent food! I had the veal tenderloin medallions with melted brie and lingonberry preserves and it was phenomenal! The peach and raspberry cobbler with ice cream was divine. Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5"

"As foodies traveling from Chicago, we are tough customers. Found this restaurant on Open Table and selected it because it was dubbed a neighborhood gem. We could not have been more pleased. Do not be put off by the location, tucked into a generic-appearing strip mall. This place truly IS a gem, and it 's no surprise it 's been around for nearly 30 years. Every dish we had was wonderful, beautifully plated, and thoughtfully prepared. The wood fired cauliflower appetizer delighted with the slightly spicy tahini sauce, brightened by fresh mint. The Kodiak scallops were some of the best I 've ever had- large and perfectly prepared, atop a sweet corn pumpkin polenta that left me wanting to super-clean my plate using my finger. Wow. We shared the dark chocolate terrine for dessert- plenty for two and equally dazzling. I 'll add that we do not eat gluten, and dined like royalty here with no problem and no adjustments needed on the dishes we easily selected. Our server was friendly and attentive and she clearly enjoyed how much we were loving our experience. The chef even came out to introduce himself when he learned of faraway travelers who had found his lovely establishment. SO glad we opted to get out of downtown Anchorage for the evening to experience this fabulous meal!"

"Very disappointed in this place. Stayed at the Westin and requested food to be ordered to go. They very rudely asked if I was staying at the hotel as though no one who isn?t staying here can even get to go food because they?re operating understaffed. Paid $78 for a meal, requested a medium rare steak and it barely came out pink. Also slapped a room service charge on my account even though I went down to pick up the food. WHAT?! The least you can do is bring it to me if you?re going to charge me a fee for room service. Mediocre food very mediocre service. Do your self a favor and go anywhere besides here if you plan to stay on Jekyll island. Disappointed and as a Marriott vacation club owner I am embarrassed that they have this restaurant under their name. Spend your money elsewhere"

"Just a brief review. Our reservations were for a Saturday night at 6:30. We were greeted and seated timely, and our drinks came out on time and well made. The salads were fine. The entrees arrived, and that 's where things broke down. A steak ordered medium plus arrived cooked to old saddle leather. The waitress offered to replace it with the ominous warning that it could take a while, we 're getting busy. My wife made a game attempt at eating what was served, but its food value had long expired, so it was left mostly uneaten. A glass of wine ordered to be enjoyed with the entree arrived with the now complementary and long delayed dessert. By the time the check arrived, we felt as if we had been held hostage in a bad Denny 's. Remembering that one is in Okoboji in the off-season, Waters Edge Grille is a perfectly adequate restaurant. However, well-run establishments don 't overwhelm their kitchens and their wait staffs. They limit their reservations to match their capacity. Further, well-run establishments know how to remedy a kitchen error with alacrity."

"We did not have to wait for our reserved table at 5:30. Promptly seated. The server/waiter was outstanding! The food selections were great and reasonably priced for New Year’s Eve. The time wait for our main entree’ was a bit longer than anticipated but the waiter was very communicative and apologized for the wait time which was greatly appreciated. All in all we thoroughly enjoyed our non hurried, attentive and delicious New Year’s Eve dinner at RoccoVino’s. We will definitely return! Thank you."

"My wife had the crab cake as her entree and said it was as good as the cakes on the East Coast. I had the Duroc Chop with bourbon sauce and I'd say it was the best cut of meat I've ever eaten, not just pork. It cut like butter. Service was good, not overwhelming"

"We had an excellent dinner on a cold Saturday in January. Sat on bar side, cozy, busy, great upscale atmosphere. Friendly staff, food came out quickly and was delicious. A South Shore gem!"

"I've been eating in this neighborhood restaurant for 30 years and the quality really went down. My NY Strip Steak was a very thick, tender and cooked to perfection. Last night it was thin, hard and boiled over. The pasta side and the salad were delicious, but the steak was terrible. It is also disappointing that several elements I have enjoyed over the years have been removed from the menu and replaced by cheaper things. Sole was replaced by cod. Flash fried spinach gone and replaced by sauce. Chicken Caesar Salad disappeared. White tablecloths are gone. Earlier, you could request special preparations, even if they no longer disappear from the menu. The last time I saw the chicken Spiedini was dry. The last time I found out there was a noticeable difference in the amount of food. The portion size was much smaller than if I were immersed. What's going on? G built no longer exists. The place has become more like a sports bar and less like the fine restaurant it used to be. I visited this place once a month or more. Not anymore. Disappoint."

"I went here to my birthday and when we sat, the first thing I noticed was that the table was so dirty. it was crazy dirty, I say without exaggeration. when we asked for recommendations, it was clear that the server we had exaggerated its menu, which is good, but they had not given any clear recommendations that they had recommended in the grunde 90% of the menu. with our food it was okay. my friends had ordered medium rare for their steaks and it was incredibly red, blood red in the middle. When my eating arrived, it was between cold and warm, which was sad, but I didn't want to disturb the server. Eating took a long time to come and server were not often seen."

"Great for the hotel and Knott's Berry Farm crowds as a break from running out to other food places or in the park too. Don't have the heavy crowds during tourist season that you have at the Chicken Dinner Restaurant. I love the place for mid afternoon business get together or an early lunch from about 11:30. Good food, good variety, good service and reasonable prices."

"We stopped at the Tumbleweed on our drive home, and we walked into the definition of Tex-Mex! From the antler chandeliers to the potted cacti to the country music blaring from the speakers, everything about the restaurant screamed south of the border . Of course, every good Mexican restaurant needs margaritas! Tumbleweed checked that box, as well as offering a full bar with draft beers, hard seltzers, and even full bottles of wine! The hostesses were very friendly and gave us the choice of a table or a booth. Our waitress was outstanding! She remembered all of our orders without having to write them down, and she kept our drinks full. However, there were a couple of problems at the restaurant, which is my reason for deducting 2 stars. 1) The bathrooms were dirty (boxes of paper towels strewn about the counter, grimy floors) 2) The menus were covered in grease, they were sticky, and mine had a spot of dried salsa on one of the pages. Despite these issues, everyone enjoyed their meals. The best part was definitely the chips! They were thin, salty, and packed a nice crunch. The queso was also delicious; we finished a large order in less than 10 minutes! We ordered the hot salsa, and I hardly tasted any spice. I imagine that the mild must taste as bland as ketchup. Our entrees were good--nothing special, but they certainly filled our bellies after a long day of traveling."

"I had Smokey Bones tonight for the first time and let me tell you at first I thought it was Halloween themed and was terribly wrong.(whew) However, upon entry I realized it was a simple BBQ restaurant…. thank God because I hate haunted houses. We were seated quickly in a quiet area and attended to immediately. Sis was our waitress tonight and let me tell you, she’s just a genuinely nice person. The kind of nice that holds the door for someone that’s like 30ft. away and they do that weird jog and she doesn’t laugh at the way you waddle. Like that level of nice. Anyway, it was our first time there so we asked for some recommendations and man oh man, what a list of bangers she gave us. Like a 90’s Disney soundtrack, ALL BANGERS. We ended up with candied bacon, Spicy Garlic Buffalo smoked wings, meat smothered Mac Cheese and a Bag of donuts. My praise for the staff and food tonight is only matched by my cholesterol level after finishing this meal. Very High. Thank you(Sis) for a great first experience with the restaurant and we look forward to our next visit. Also, we flipped off Buffalo Wild Wings as we pulled out too… we felt it was only right to do in this situation."

"Just excellent. My first time visiting and I have no complaints from the ladies at entrance to the gentlemen clearing the tables. Our sever was Angelo, he was the best very busy but never missed a beat with attention to our needs. I hope all of his tables were as pleased as mine was with his service. The manager and owner were very personable. Took the time to visit tables and asked guests if the were enjoying themselves. Shook our hands and had a real conversation. The live Band 3-Point Soul Jazz there are no words to describe the Jams that came from them. I will be keeping up with them. CityGate Grill I will go back and I am recommending it as one my favorite spots with great hospitality, food, wine and entertainment."

"Ordered online withdrawal and food was ready at the specified time. Smoked wings were great. Baby back ribs tend to be fat and cooked. Mac n cheese was decent, but not tasteful. Chicken pliers and pommes for children were acceptable. However, they forgot a sequence of fries. Overall, I would definitely go back for the wings, but skip the rest."
