"Today, we had a reservation for the US/England soccer game at a restaurant during the World Cup. Unfortunately, we had to track down staff to be seated and waited at our table for over 45 minutes without anyone from the staff coming to check on us or take our order. It was evident that the pub was severely understaffed. Perhaps the management or owner failed to properly plan for staffing, or perhaps someone called in sick. We were informed that the owner or manager was present, but if they were, I would suggest taking a few minutes to personally address the long wait and situation with the customers. Showing a little courtesy goes a long way, especially when guests have young children who need to eat. Ultimately, we decided to leave after nearly an hour without any communication from the staff."
