"After looking at countless pictures and reviews of wineries in Napa Valley. I chose Truchard Vineyards to take my beautiful wife Lisa as a anniversary gift. We were celebrating our 8th wedding anniversary. The initial drive in is so calm and inviting. It feels as one was transported back in time where every one moved at a slower relaxing pace. We were greeted by a friendly woman right away. Who told us we could park anywhere we wanted. After we parked Justin came walking down to greet us. He gave us welcome handshake. He asked if we wanted to taste inside or outside. My wife chose outside where there had a cute picnic table. The tasting takes place underneath magical family tree. It reaches to the sky and provides nice cover from the sun. There was a slight breeze that was welcoming. Justin poured our first glass which was Chardonnay. I am not a huge of Chardonnay but Truchard Chardonnay is delicious. Everything Justin explained about our first pour came about. He then poured for us there Pinot Noir which my wife really enjoyed. We then took a quick stroll up the vineyards and walked along the vines. He showed us baby grapes and how they would be this season’s wine. When we got to the top it was so magical. They have a pond and vineyards all around. He poured us Tempranillo which was one of our favorite. We then walked back down and had a pour of Zinfandel. It was my wife’s least favorite but I think it would go well with bbq over the summer. He then went inside and got us their Merlot. We then took our glass and walked inside their cave which was a cool 58 degrees. One could smell the oak from the barrels. It was my favorite part of the tour to be in the caves. We then walked back to our picnic table and had the last pour of Cabernet Sauvignon. That was really good.Justin is so laid back yet has so much knowledge of wine. Never were we pressured or asked to join the wine club. He is a people person. One I could bring my son around or take out to lunch with my family. He mentioned his love for his girlfriend which I thought was cool.We joined the wine club because we enjoyed the wines so much and the beautiful vineyards, caves, Truchard’s home right next to the winery.A huge plus when we were leaving we got to thank Jo Ann Truchard. She was so pleasant and had a huge welcoming smile. As I write this review drinking Truchard Cabernet Franc which is also so delicious. It so soft, flavorful and one could taste the oak in the barrel in a good way.Thank you Justin and Truchard winery for making the perfect day for me and my wife.10 stars given but only 5 allowed on google review."
