"We stopped at the Tumbleweed on our drive home, and we walked into the definition of Tex-Mex! From the antler chandeliers to the potted cacti to the country music blaring from the speakers, everything about the restaurant screamed south of the border . Of course, every good Mexican restaurant needs margaritas! Tumbleweed checked that box, as well as offering a full bar with draft beers, hard seltzers, and even full bottles of wine! The hostesses were very friendly and gave us the choice of a table or a booth. Our waitress was outstanding! She remembered all of our orders without having to write them down, and she kept our drinks full. However, there were a couple of problems at the restaurant, which is my reason for deducting 2 stars. 1) The bathrooms were dirty (boxes of paper towels strewn about the counter, grimy floors) 2) The menus were covered in grease, they were sticky, and mine had a spot of dried salsa on one of the pages. Despite these issues, everyone enjoyed their meals. The best part was definitely the chips! They were thin, salty, and packed a nice crunch. The queso was also delicious; we finished a large order in less than 10 minutes! We ordered the hot salsa, and I hardly tasted any spice. I imagine that the mild must taste as bland as ketchup. Our entrees were good--nothing special, but they certainly filled our bellies after a long day of traveling."

"El Famous Burrito is my personal favorite Mexican lunch spot. It's not a restaurant, its a tiny takeout or eat-n-go place, but at the same time it beats almost any other Mex place foodwise. Speaking of the food, I am in love with their Chile Relleno burrito, and this chain makes the best one I've ever tried. Regardless of the location tho, the taste doesn't change, they all keep the same recipe and technology going. I also love that you can take the whole bottle of salsa with you and top the burrito with it after every single bite. I am a huge salsa lover so that's what I do. Both red and green have always been fresh, and they store it in the fridge during the day, rather than on the tables, so if you're here for the first time you may not even notice them: Service have always been outstanding. Comparing to few other Mexican places I've been to, staff speaks good english and undestands you perfectly, never had any issues. The speed of them preparing your order is SUPER FAST. Normally, when the order is taken and given back to the kitchen, I only have time to pay for it, pickup a salsa from the fridge, grab some napkins and plastic fork, put all these on the table I've chosen and... its done! Literally they make it in under 2 minutes!! Sometimes, during some peak hours you may wait like 5-6 min, because there is always a guy in front of me picking up 60 tacos to go; still it is super super fast! And it doesn't mean they undercook something, absolutely not, it means cooks are ready the proper way. Their Wheeling location is the same distance from my house as Mount Prospect, so I take turns. I can't tell I like one better, they are both amazing. Wheeling, however, updated their interior lately, so now it has a new fresher look. Hopefully, they will go on with Mt Prospect next up, because place does look a bit tired!"
