"Just grabbed a combo for lunch. Ribs and brisket. I've always been a fan of Bonos mustard sauce and it's still very good after all these years. The ribs were big and meaty and tasted great, but the brisket was a bit dry. It was ok but not as good as expected. The baked beans were excellent too. The mac-n-cheese was terrible as I only had one small bite. Overall, the ribs were great and the brisket was ok when covered in the sauce. It was a Tuesday after lunch around 2pm. They have an outside walk up window for togo orders and we ordered after getting there. The employees were friendly and professional, and the food was ready in less than 10 minutes."

"Southern BBQ pork is a favorite meal. I have it on a solid recommendation that Bono's is the best place to eat a meal with this meat in Jacksonville. I do not live in Jacksonville so I have not tried other places. I have now eaten at two of their restaurants and the results have been very good. On the latest visit, I had a salad with BBQ on top. The salad was fresh, the lettuce was fresh and the pork had excellent flavor. The pork was a little less moist than I prefer. Another person in our party ordered the BBQ pork plate and it was more moist. No idea why the difference, probably just from a different roast. The salad had fresh, light green lettuce that was very crisp. The cucumbers were fresh. My salad came with a boiled egg for an extra charge and it sounded good for including it on a salad. There are a variety of sauces to put on the pork. I went for one that was described as sweet. It was and I liked it very much. The restaurant has a pleasant, informal ambiance. There are not many places where there is a large alligator on the wall. This one appeared to be stuffed and near the entrance. (See the photo of the alligator below. There is a large pit in the restaurant where patrons can see the meat cooking. It is a nice touch and creates an impression this is a good place to eat as the meat is cooked there and it is always fresh. The food was full of flavor, the service was good and atmosphere provided a pleasant place for a lunch. The large American flag on the wall adds to the patriotic atmosphere and seems perfect in a Southern BBQ restaurant!"

"I get takeout from here regularly and it's usually a very big order and they never mess up the order. The staff are great and always remember us when we come in. And I like my food well done and they always make the fries and onion rings extra crispy, and they will give me the most well done meat. I highly recommend it and they will cook your food the way you like it."

"As we shop today with my oldest daughter in J-ville, we stumbled over this beautiful barbecue area. We just waited a while, but as soon as we have a table, the server was very friendly and polite. The food was amazing starting with the roasted Okra. It was perfect. The ribs were moist and perfectly seasoned. The chicken was also delicate and moist. Beans and Mac and cheese were there. I'm looking forward to coming back soon. Visit a place near you. You won't be disappointed, I assure you."

"They have good bbq. They have a feast for two for $23.99. You get bbq spare ribs, chicken and pork. Plus delicious sides like fried corn on the cob, coleslaw, fries, bbq beans and garlic toast. The food is delicious. It's so good. We always ending up leaving stuffed! Plus on Mondays after 2pm kids eat free so it's an even better deal! Add sweet tea and banana pudding to the mix and it's an amazing meal!"

"Main reasons for only 3 stars is that they were out of numerous menu items (including a favorite brisket) and because two different types of pork that we were served were seriously dried out. The Cobb salad was tasty and the bread pudding was very good. The portions are a good size not enough for leftovers, but definitely won't leave hungry. Prices seem just right."

"Food was great and service.was excellent, UNTIL ....THE OWNER showed up! He was so rude and unprofessional. I knew more about his business and his employees than was EVER my business. Maybe it was because I was raised right, by a military vet, but MR., you praise in public and correct in private The whole atmosphere of the restaurant changed when he showed up. He has great employees, in spite of the way he acts in front of customers. Next time I go through Lake Wales from the other coast we won't be stopping at what used to be one of our favorites ?"

"What's the difference between Woody's BBQ and Sonny's? Nothing except Woody's BBQ puts out awesome coupons. Both are good BBQ places but you can save a litle change at Woody's by going on-line or checking the local magazines or newspapers. My wife and I like getting the feast for 2. It comes with all the different kinds of meat plus 4 side dishes and texas toast. Or for take out your best bet is the family value chicken. it comes with a whole chicken, beans, cole slaw and texas toast. This is the perfect location location too because after checking out St Augustine and working up an appetite you can get your fill here for a good price!"

"This place is so dissapointing, do yourself a favor and do not order from here! The peach cobbler was gluey, flavorless and the portion size is tiny. Tastes like it was from a frozen container and barely thawed before being delivered. Spent over 75$ on 2 meals and a dessert and regret it completely. Ribs were dry and wayyy to salty. The brisket was dry and not flavorful. Chicken tenders were just alright, about the quality of frozen grocery store tenders you make at home. Even the side of toast they gave us was floppy, and greasy. No option to add any sauce so everything was dry. No dipping sauce for chicken, 1 tiny cup of bbq for everything that tasted like overly sweet mcds bbq with no tanginess or depth to the flavors. This place is not it. Do better Willie Jewels, we know you can see all the reviews. I wish I had read them before ordering. First and last time ordering this trash. ,I never leave reviews but this place was so bad and overpriced, I dont want anyone else to waste there money here. The Mac and cheese was the only decent thing in the order. Never ordering here again and will tell my friends not too as well."

"Lip smacking, flavorful, fall off the bone, fat, juicy ribs. However, I was disillusioned in the sides not the quality which was good, but the portion size. Almost $5 per side and each side was distributed in a cup that literally amounted to a handful of product. For $5, I expected the sides to be much larger. I also have to say that I know prices have skyrocketed, but am I the only one who remembers when a slab of ribs was around $25? That said, if you can afford it, these ribs cant be beat."
