"I went in on a whim to take advantage of an old Groupon I bought literally before the COVID shutdown was announced, values at purchase price. I'd tried to use it multiple times between the beginning of 2020 and 2022, just to find it continually closed. I just happened to drive through Monroe one morning in late 2022 and saw cars. Alot of cars, which is usually a very good sign. It turns out that the restaurant had been sold due to the pandemic, which has become the norm. I didn't realize this when I ordered, let the waiter know I had an old Groupon valued at $7, and ordered berry crepes. The new owner came over and explained the situation, stating that he doesn't utilize Groupon and wasn't required to honor unused ones in the sale (I think he'd recently bought . He did say that he would honor mine, however, and just asked that if I was asked about an old Groupon, to let people know that they do not take them. Of course I agreed and drank a delicious cup of coffee (added bennie of vanilla creamer! while I waited for my crepes."
