"So every time we come here the food is always great. Always love the location, but this time we ran into some trouble. I don’t know whether there wasn’t enough staff or a lot of call outs, but the bar tender seemed to try and do what he could including hosting and getting us water. We waited over 20 mins before a server finally showed up and took our order. He explained he was pulling a double shift and apologized for the wait. Once this happened everything moved smoothly beyond this with food coming out hot and our beer making it to the table. We didn’t dock him for the long wait as we were aware they were short staffed at the time. Overall a great place and delicious food, just gotta wonder a bit as to what happened that caused no servers to be on the floor for so long."

"I was at Village Square Restaurant for Winchester Restaurant Week and I was interested in trying the 'Duroc Pork Roulade with candied walnuts, spinach, Gruyere cheese over Yukon potato mousse cherry demi glace ' I have a slight walnut allergy and wanted to know if the walnuts could be left out or eaten around. The waiter said he would ask. A few minutes later, the chef came out to talk to me and said he did not feel comfortable exposing me to an allergen. He then offered to specially prepare a version of the dish without the walnuts. I am glad he was so accommodating because it was delicious! Everything was great! The waiter was very attentive. The employees certainly went over the top to make it a great evening and meal."

"Amazing food!! Best we've ate out all YEAR. All fresh, homemade and plenty of it!! Service was exceptional!! We brought two kids in on a early Saturday evening after a long day at the water park and sat on the patio to enjoy the games and beautiful weather. "My special St. Patrick's Day dinner was a disappointment. The picture on the website of the restaurant of the plate and what I was served was quite different. The dinner I was cut off was a bowl of crushed cornberry and very little cabbage. The photo of the site was a plate with individual portions of potatoes, carrots, cabbage and slices of corn beef. Very disappointed. We had a wonderful Ceasar salad with our dinner, so everything was not lost."

"We had a dinner reservation on a Saturday for four people at 9 p.m. Arrived on time, were greeted in a friendly manner and seated promptly. For a Saturday the place wasn't packed but there were patrons around. However, our first clue the night was not going to go smoothly was when the person pouring our water gave us a heads up the kitchen is backed up (not sure why). Our server soon followed in a meekly manner, not much confidence at all and not strong knowledge of the menu second clue. We ordered an appetizer to share (grilled artichoke) which was good (nothing special) which was served in a timely manner along with the bottle of wine we ordered. And it went downhill from there. Next to our table/booth was a large open space (not sure the reason for it) and also the bar. Not sure what was going on but the managers and wait staff were congregating in the open area discussing problems that were going on information patrons should not be aware of. Also, we soon discovered why are server wasn't strong she was a bartender. After a long, long wait, our food finally arrived. FORTUNATELY, it was good except one of the dishes had bok choy which was gritty and a side dish we ordered never arrived. Even though the food was good we would definitely not return given all the other mishaps. On the positive side a manager appeared and acknowledged the problems and comped a bottle of wine."
