"Finally, after 20 minutes, a staff member informed us that there were no tables available, despite several empty booths. I insisted multiple times that we would take a booth, and eventually, she agreed. We were given menus, but then we waited another 15 minutes before anyone came to take our order. We waited an additional 15 minutes just to receive our drinks and appetizer, and a place setting for one of us didn’t even arrive until well into our meal.
The large table next to us asked for more drinks but was also overlooked. They eventually got a takeout box and had to serve themselves in frustration. It only got worse from there. Almost an hour later, our meals finally arrived—well, two out of three did. We waited another 10 minutes for the third dish, and when it finally came, we were still without refills. I was left waiting an additional 15 minutes for water; I was really thirsty by this point.
As for the food, it was cold and greasy, with some vegetables still frozen. Hollie and I barely touched our meals. Our son took his home in a box to heat up later. When I went to pay the bill, I shared our experience with the cashier, who simply said they were too busy and asked for payment. This left me quite upset, so I spent two days trying to reach the owner. I called the number on the receipt but got no answer. I finally found another number, and when I was able to speak to the owner, it got even more frustrating.
I informed him about our experience on Mother’s Day, and he immediately responded that they were very busy that day—TOO BAD! I expressed my concerns about the wait times and the food quality, and he continued to say, “TOO BAD!” I mentioned that I have worked in the hospitality industry for years, and generally, businesses that fall short try to make things right with their customers. He coldly replied, “WE FIX,” but when I asked how, he said that was none of my business. I insisted that I felt wronged and that what I received was not worth the price I paid, to which he again said, “TOO BAD!!” and hung up on me.
I should also mention that the doctor waiting for takeout had to wait over an hour for his order. Having been in the business for quite some time, I always prioritize taking care of customers, and I can confidently say I will never return to this restaurant, nor will I recommend it to anyone. I hope everyone reads this and avoids such poor service. There are plenty of wonderful places in town that genuinely welcome their customers and work hard to keep us coming back. Best of luck to Hunan Village!"
