"I stopped by to grab a quick bite and a drink on a Sunday night. I sat at the bar and waited to get served. It took a while to put in my order no biggie. I ordered 2 steak tacos and a margarita. The tacos were nice and big but no flavor, the margarita was ok. Chips and dip was excellent. The only reason I'm giving this place 2 stars is because when I requested for my bill I was told that that my bill was $30. I asked the gentleman why and he said I ordered 2 tacos And adrink. I was like of course I ordered that. I asked how much the tacos were he said $18 dollars. I asked him you want to tell me 2 tacos cost 18 dollars he said yes without flinching. ???? logically you'd think he'd be like that's weird. But noooo I guess common sense ain't common no more. I have eaten in many great Mexican restaurants but never have I have paid $18 for 2 mediocre tacos. I was very applaud but in my nature I did not want to argue so I asked for thereceipt to pay my bill and this is where things changed. He became very hesitant and went to call the other waiter. With my little Spanish from my understanding they messed up. I was behind the counter as I watched them scramble to fixit. A phone call was made blah blah blah ????. After 10 minutes the gentleman fixing the error comes over apologized and offered to refund my money. I am not sure if it was an honest error or whatever it was. I was disappointed with thelack of honesty. I actually love the other Los Molcajetes Bar Grill off Montecito Blvd so I expected a similar experience. Unfortunately not I will not be coming back here."

"While Sonora Prime in Polanco boasts a supposedly luxurious atmosphere and alleged top-notch cuts, my recent experience fell far short of expectations. The biggest letdown was undoubtedly the service. Here's what went wrong: Inattentive Staff: Securing the attention of our waiter was a constant battle. We waited long periods for drink refills, had to flag down someone to take our drink and dinner orders, and even then, simple requests seemed to get lost in translation. Pricey Disappointment: Sonora Prime positions itself as a premium steakhouse, and the bill certainly reflected that. However, the food itself was just average. The steaks, while not cooked to the requested temperature, lacked the exceptional flavor I would expect for the price point. Now, some might say that a nice ambiance can salvage a meal, but even that wasn't quite on point. The music was a touch too loud for comfortable conversation, and the semi-open area felt more like a noisy bar scene than a refined dining experience. Additionally, the lights kept flickering and it was quite cold. Overall, Sonora Prime Masaryk was a frustrating oversell. While there's a glimmer of potential with the high-end ingredients, the inattentive service and underwhelming food quality significantly overshadowed any positives. For the price you pay, there are definitely better steakhouses in Polanco that will make you feel like a valued customer."

"I not more do not leave bad reviews, and you can read many I have written on here. I want to tell you this review would have been a 4 star review off the bat, but it all crumbled for me when after a fantastic time the front manager came to our table saying we had been here way over their 90 min limit which I never even knew existed. I told her we were actually waiting for our check to come back and had already given our money. I might add this place is not cheap and for two people out bill was well into $100 for taco, apps, and 2 margaritas. Our waitress never even asked us if we wanted dessert. On top of that this was my first time here. We had reservations. I hadn't seen my friend in years and we had a lot of catching up to do. I have never in all my life been told there was a time limit for a table to eat dinner anywhere. I do not like that rule either. If you go to dinner you want to talk and have time to eat and relish your drinks and maybe even a dessert if there is room. Especially when you are throwing down hard earned money and tipping well and accounting for the time in that tip of how long you have been occupying their table. When we told the manager we were leaving and just waiting on our checks, which I might add she was very pleasant about, it just rubbed me wrong that they even felt the need to come up to anyone and do that at all ever. She replied of course we don't want you to leave; I didn't want to give that impression we just wanted to move you to the bar. I turned to look at the bar as we left and laughed with my friend how that never would have even been possible either as the bar was completely full. Anytime I go to a restaurant if a table is not available they make you wait and/ or you just decide to go somewhere else which is exactly what happened another weekend while out with friends on water street in Naperville. No restaurant is ever going to ask you to move yourself to a bar because you have been there too long to eat, and others are waiting. Now the food was great. I loved the guacamole with pineapple habanero so much. The tacos were delicious too. Like I said I can't speak on the dessert since we were never offered to look or get anything. The margaritas were unique and tasty. Others have commented that there was no alcohol. I disagree with that completely. a sign of a good drink is that you really cannot taste the alcohol. These were very good drinks. We had stayed longer only because we were having fun, we had ordered a second margarita, and it was a torrential downpour outside. We had courageously ventured out that night to meet up not knowing basically tornado weather and flooding streets would ensue on our way there. Knowing what I know now about their 90 min limit I would not return for dinner ever, but may just eat at the bar for a drink and appetizer until my table for dinner becomes available elsewhere. Plus it is very very loud to hear your friends which is why it also probably took longer than usual to talk or yell over the table to them. I definitely agree with another review on here about them needing a much bigger space. Maybe then they can trash their 90 min table rule which to me again is completely ridiculous. I understand others want to eat, but this place is not taco bell. It is a restaurant with high priced food drinks. Even an appetizer is as much as an entree if not more. The average price for your dinner plate is $15-21 that is just the dinner meal. Basically, They want you to spend $21 on a meal and $11+ on an appetizer, $11+ on your drinks. So in conclusion, the way this can become a 5 star review in the future: 1. Get a bigger space! Then you can nix the 90 min rule, it won't be so loud, and you will have more tables. Obviously, people have fun and like it here. 2. I feel like I should add since this is a corporate chain restaurant the person looking for a location to put this place did the company a huge disservice. 3. Put on your website their is a 90 minute table limit as well as at the door. Tell us when we make reservat"
