"Wow...I 'm confused...isn 't this place supposed to be a Dallas staple? The food here is actually kind of terrible, especially for the price! I chose the higher priced 3-course option and would have had a better meal at a chain restaurant! The best thing I had all night was the crab cake in the first course. I ordered the scallops as my entrée and there was absolutely nothing special about this dish. I mean, the seasonal vegetable was corn. The scallops were not seared and were basically white mush covered in cream sauce on top of soggy angel hair pasta that I actually mistook for ramen when the plate was set before me. I could buy the exact same scallops in the freezer section at Kroger for $15 and made a better dish at home for 1/4 of the price. I ordered a side of Brussel sprouts expecting the delicious, crispy-style sprouts you get at other high-end steakhouses, but instead, they were barely steamed, plain and so bland. Everyone 's steaks were overcooked. When the server came around to dress everyone 's baked potato, he basically shoved other plates and glasses out of the way and then proceeded to chunk globs of sour cream and butter onto the potato followed by spilling cheese and bacon all over each person 's lap. Super messy and seemingly put out by having to serve the toppings. We would have been perfectly fine serving ourselves if he would 've just set the toppings plate down and walked away. Maybe then I wouldn 't have been picking cheese out of my lap for the rest of the evening. I ordered the peach cobbler for dessert and was served blueberry cobbler instead, and it tasted like it had salt poured on it instead of sugar. I didn 't say anything at that point because we were already so disappointed by everything else, so it really didn 't matter. I think overall we had one correct and tasty meal out of 13 people! Oh, and one of us had three gnats in their cocktail!! Overall, this place was really disappointing and absolutely NOT worth the money!"

"We were very excited to dine at the Newport Grill. I kept seeing it in the lists of top restaurants in the Wichita area. We were somewhat disappointed. First off, the decibel level of the restaurant’s noise was unreal. The restaurant was full at 7:00pm and my daughter had an app on her phone which measured it at 83 which is the same as a police siren. It was hard to have a conversation and was very close to hurting my ears. We started the meal off with calamari. It was good, but nothing special. We then progressed to the salads. My daughter and I had Caesar salads. It was OK, but I didn’t feel like it had enough dressing. My husband had the Kale Salad and said it was good. At this point we noticed other tables had bread. I asked a passing waiter if we had to order it. He said we needed to tell our waiter that we wanted it. It wasn’t an item on the menu, so I am not sure how first-time diners would know this, however, when it arrived, it was absolutely fantastic. A 10/10. We asked for seconds. The main course was a disappointment for me. I had the Faroe Island Salmon, with hoisin sauce. I am surprised they even mentioned the hoisin sauce as it was a tiny drizzle on the side of the plate as if it was a decoration from a ketchup bottle. I am guessing less than ½ a teaspoon of hoisin. I asked for more which our waiter brought promptly. The Salmon was bland’ish without the hoisin. My husband had the Pacific Swordfish and said it was very good, but he is easy to please with fish. Our daughter had the Chicken Alfredo and complimented it. Our waiter was very attentive. He refilled my husband and daughter’s Cokes multiple times. I had a glass of wine. The wine list was extensive. The prices were reasonable for an upscale’ish seafood restaurant, but I am not sure I can recommend it, however, that bread may bring me back. And to think, had we not seen it on other tables and requested it, we might never have had the pleasure of tasting it."
