"Decent at best. That’s all really. It is very noisy- by design. Look up and you’ll see why. The ceiling is designed to carry the noise from the bar throughout the restaurant. And honestly I don’t care to listen to the bumpin music they’re playing at the bar when we’re at our booth 50+ feet away. It is also very dim. Extremely poor lighting, according to our waitress (who was very nice) this is also by design because other diners have made comment about this too and she said she’s mentioned it and the feedback she gets is “it creates the ambience.” Yeah okay…… “ambience.” The food is decent at best. Caesar salad was pretty good. But what is up with the streak being doused in butter? There was a pool of butter on my plate around my steak. Is the lighting dim in the kitchen too? Can the chefs not see what they’re doing? All in all, New York Prime is not any better than Morton’s or The Capital Grille. In fact, we probably should have gone to one of those two. There’s nothing New York about this restaurant at all. After returning home we decided to check out New York Prime’s website and read their menu story about how “New York Prime is a different kind of steakhouse.” If you ever want a laugh, read that. You’ll tear up, it’s hilarious. Proprietors seem very full of themselves! Anyway, we were very unimpressed, will definitely not be returning."

"The ambiance is definitely classy and upscale so I expect so much more from this restaurant. Customer service was a bit lacking. The waiter seems like he was new and was forgetting to ask basic things like asking how I wanted my steak cooked before walking off. It was a very weird vibe that I couldn't put my finger on. The food was mediocre. The Petite filet was dry, over cooked and under seasoned. The cognac sauce and potatoes it came with were a delicious though. The Risotto faired a bit better and was actually very tasty with the scallops and shrimp. The NY strip was seasoned well and had the best potatoes of all 3 steak dishes. The shrimp cocktail was good as well and the cocktail sauce seemed freshly made. The salmon roll had no structural integrity. It presented well but basically crumbled as soon as it was picked up. It also sat for a bit and had gotten warm. But now to the wonderfully presented Heaven's Sakura, a $17 drink. The drink's presentation is gorgeous and you just know it's gonna be amazing...yea no. This drink either needs to be taken back to the drawing board or removed from the menu forever. This drink was DISGUSTING and was only finished because it was $17. It tasted like a drink you would mix as a kid on a dare. The crunch bar was the only thing on the menu I truly enjoyed it was delicious! I don't think I will be coming back since first impressions are everything and Gerrard's didn't pass the vibe check."

"we went there on Valentine's Day, which was probably a big mistake. after booking, the owner called to check our reservation and he assured us that we would love the restaurant absolutely. based on it, I was kind of excited. we arrived at 6:25 for our reservation 6:30. the place was quite full and there were only 3 tables open. we sat and a few minutes later we were told that there would be a waiting time. we ordered our drinks and then placed our order when they were served. we ordered a crabcake starter and salad. about 30 minutes later our crab cakes were given to the table next to us, which arrived after us. About 15 minutes later our salads arrived and about 30 minutes later our crab cake arrived. the crab cakes were good, but at $12 for 2 rather small crab cake it was overpriced. we ordered two of the higher seafood dishes with an additional order of 1 lb of the king crooked $28) that arrived about 30 minutes later. the salmon, the scallops and garnel were spiced and cooked over. the crab legs were a real disappointment, as they were overcooked and how smoke tasted, instead of crumbs and cold. someone sitting next to us said there was no possibility that there were the king's crab legs. after that we ordered a dessert that was the best part of the entire meal was likely because they were made before the time. while we saw a few just going out and not returning and another one threatened to go because it took so long. When we got our sack, I looked at my watch and noticed that we were there two hours and 40 minutes."
