"This place missed the mark.I was looking forward to trying this place after reading positive reviews.First let’s cover some good things: the atmosphere is good, we got a warm welcome from the owner when we arrived and Brianna our waitress was attentive and helpful. One of the dishes, the lasagna had good flavour. The scallop risotto looked good but the scallops were completely translucent and springy and were undercooked. The duck gnocchi is a very mixed bag. The bit of duck I tried was actually delicious. The gnocchi had the consistency of a dollop of mashed potato and couldn’t even keep their shape they nearly looked like melted cheese on the plate. Our waitress was understanding when we showed her and had the plates taken away and replaced. The owner came out and first proceeded to tell my friend that scallops are meant to be medium rare, I guess thinking that she wasn’t aware. However the 3 scallops she got on her $50 dollar dish were truly undercooked. He then started telling me that the gnocchi there are not like the ones I “get frozen at king soopers”. I have visited Italy on multiple occasions, have made fresh gnocchi myself and dined at multiple high end Italian restaurants in the US and these were really not what home made gnocchi should be like.Places have off nights. And I was happily going to accept that, but the owner came across as defensive and patronising which was fairly off-putting.To add insult to injury, as we we’re leaving a different member of the wait staff asked us if we had paid which of course we had.Disappointing."
