"I visited Sotto for a performance and prepaid for tickets. When we arrived there was no host/hostess to seat us. We found someone who was behind the bar and he sat us. Service was extremely slow. The waiter kept apologizing saying they were short handed. There was only 1 bartender working for the whole place. I enjoyed the musical performance and the food but the service was just too slow. I found the drinks to also be on the expensive side but I understand they have a happy hour."

"My wife and I together with another couple on the 5th. June a wine tasting dinner. We sat in an area that was away from the main event and did not hear any discussions about the wine. In addition, we were last served with the wine for any course served before the course. Of course the wine was gone before dinner. Very bad service. The wine was very good and we even bought some, but the service and the food made for a bad night. Not worth what we paid from every track. Then to finish a bad night, the restaurant has charged my credit card for full dinner for 4 people and it will charge again for 1/2 full dinner as well as the other couples credit card for 1/2 meal. They received twice the cost of meal! I talked to my credit card company and hopefully they're working on it. I don't think we're going back to this restaurant."

"The sushi was excellent. The steaks were cooked perfectly, I just don't think the quality of the meat was there for the price. My wife and I both got filet mignon and it was decent, just lacking the texture and flavor you look for in filet. The service at the bar as well as at our table were both excellent. Overall, it was a good experience and I'm sure we'll be back. One thing I'd recommend to the restaurant is to get beer taps. Only having bottled beer at a place this nice and expensive seems a little cheap."

"We visit Baltimore often and like to try new places. This has been our favorite new find. We ate at a nearby restaurant who mentioned several other restaurants in the area, including Birroteca so we booked a reservation for the next night. Although we had reservations for table service, we changed it to sit at the bar. The bar area wasn't crowded but enough guests to be lively. The bartenders were attentive and helpful. We started off with a beer, cocktail, and their special grilled calamari appetizer. This appetizer was amazing! Since I have celiac, I was happy to see gluten free pasta and pizza options. My husband and I shared a gluten free boar bolognese pasta and a gluten free Honey Belly (changed out the pork belly to sausage due to gluten issue). My husband ordered a different beer and I moved onto a glass of wine. We enjoyed our dinner, drinks, and experience at Birroteca. Definitely on our list to return when we are back in Baltimore!"

"We could no longer have our experience here for my men 30. Happy birthday. Our reservation was ready and we were set immediately. Our server recommended an appetizer that should die for amazing! Our entrees were also delicious — so full taste. To round it off, they brought him a dessert with a candle on a plate that said birthday on it!
