"Wasn't too crowded so seating was quick! I liked that they had every other booth closed off to to keep some friendly distance ! Food was excellent as always. I highly recommend the French Onion Soup!!! The broth is amazing!!! The bread-to-cheese-to- onion ratio is always spot on! Service was spectacular!! I think we left a 35% tip. Hubby asked if they have Cherry Pepsi. The average server would have simply said no sorry we don't.... only Pepsi. The server we had said no but I can make it for you with a little grenadine. She even put a few cherries in it !! She went the extra mile which is rare so we thought the tip was necessary and well deserved!"

"This was my first time dining at the New Yorker and I will say I was not very impressed. For a restaurant that is known for their filets and sirloins I was very disappointed. First off after receiving our soups and salads we waited almost an hour before our meals came out. The kitchen was backed up because of a new wine pairing menu they were offering for the first time that night. When my filet finally did arrive the bottom was charred and inedible and the filet was cooked to a medium instead of a medium-rare which I had ordered. I would have sent it back to be redone, but I did not want to hold up the rest of my party so I could wait another 45 minutes to get another filet. Definitely not worth the $50+ that I was charged for the filet. Definitely glad that this dinner was paid for using a gift card because I would have never paid for that quality of food without it. But I decided to give 2 stars because the waitress was very nice and kept apologizing for the delay. Also I usually do not mind having piano played in the background while at a restaurant, but when the pianist starts to play the Mario theme song, it definitely ruined the atmosphere that was there."

"a restaurant that is connected to a hotel is usually nothing spectacular, and that is valid in the case of sebago in the city of portland (together with the hampton). eating is at best ok. vermont türkei and apfel sandwich ok more brot than filling. the edible butter cake was moderate and you could say that it had been frozen before serving. if they are super hungry and they are in the hotel, it is not the worst, but it is not fantastic. go a few feet and they will have many good opportunities. positiw was the staff very friendly."

"The food isnt worth the price, in my opinion. We ordered 2 shakes and only received 1. Onion rings were so soggy that the batter fell off. Fries were not fresh. The burgers were pretty decent, not the best Ive ever had. The egg rolls were pretty good. The shake we did receive was very good! Best part of the meal. Overall, we paid over $80, and it just wasnt worth that."

"We live in Alton, but had some biz in Jerseyville, so we were looking for someplace local to have a nice dinner.....Boy did we score better than expected. We went there on a referral from a local biz owner, and we were very pleasantly surprised by the atmosphere, decor and warm greeting from our wonderful server Jessica, who provided us with excellent service the whole time! Very reasonable prices for top notch food selections. So pleased we referred some friends and went back their ourselves the very next night! They were slammed busy, but Jessica and her counterpart didn't miss a beat, and worked as a team to take good care of all the diners. Chicken dishes, shrimp pasta, hot wings, Med flatbread and salads were all terrific with generous portions. Beers and cocktails were great too. Don't miss the wonderful, locally made cupcakes for dessert either....They were amazing! The bill for salads, nice dinners with sides, cocktails and desserts for two was very reasonable. We will be making the drive to Jerseyville again for Bossio's!!!"

"Food was okay crab dip was a weird but the soft pretzels are bussin. Typical bar food for sure. we got carry out thinking it was more of a restaurant with a bar.. loss of a star is for the quality honestly even with it being bar food everything besides the soft pretzels were just bleh. "We have been going here since the place opened. Some of the food is outstanding, and some is just meh. The wings are absolutely the best thing on the menu sooo good! Pizza and sandwiches also good. The salads are just big bowls of lettuce. Totally skip the salads. So, it really depends on what you get. For long time customers, the problem is that the menu never, ever changes and there are never, ever any specials. We are tired of the same items so we go there way less than we used to. Another issue for me personally is that the women's bathroom has had no renovation since the place was Fionn MacCools over 10 years ago. It's moldy and dingy and smells like sewage. The last time we were at the Tap, the sewage smell had somehow overcome the entire restaurant and I completely lost my appetite. (This isn't usually the case. It's a place that needs a bit of TLC from management."

"This place was awesome! It’s like mall food court meets high end sports bar dining! From a quick walk around there looked to Thai, pizza, pasta, Mexican, dessert, and coffee options. (Plus more I am sure I missed, it is quite a big place) plus a full bar with a huge sitting area equipped with plenty of large screen TVs. We had tacos from the Mexican place that were amazing!!"

"we have dimmed here several times in the last months and always enjoyed our evening. we wanted to share the restaurant with friends. what a catastrophe. the service was terrible. we ordered drinks, they never came. most of the time we had no water and sought someone to fill drinks. eating out forever, but when it did, it was delicious. also other tables complained, and it was obvious that there was no management to help. Although we are back, it probably won't be on Saturday night because I don't think they can treat the masses appropriately."

"Let me explain the rating. Food 4 : Service 0. We went in around 7pm, it was not busy. The person that took our order was Victoria. I can not call her a server because she has no concept of the definition. Horrible listening skills, sarcastic attitude, unprofessional demeanor, and an overall disinterest in what she should be doing. The downhill slide continued when we only ordered water to drink. She started to walk away and we all looked at her with wonder when she didn’t offer us menus. As afterthought she turned around and in a snarky voice asked if we wanted menus. The food took quite a while to come out. When it arrived we still had no silverware or napkins. after about 6-7 minutes she came over and asked if everything was ok. We had to ask for silverware and napkins. They showed up about 10 minutes later. One person in our party ordered a cue ball dessert. After about 30 minutes went by, Victoria said she forgot to order it because another party ordered 7 pizzas and her head was all over the place. So another 15 minutes goes by and the dessert shows up. At this point I asked for the check. That also seemed to surprise her. Our drinks were empty for most of the meal. I went up to the bar to pay because I had no idea how long it would be before we saw her again. We had full vision of the pool tables and bar area and she was very rarely visible. Needless to say I would go back for the food, however if she was our server I would find somewhere else to sit."

"we enjoy the fare and covered, come as they are atmosphere. the aggravation and the feeling of not welcome sets in hard, if sometimes, due to later than midday for us that we come closer to a watch, know that they are open comfortable past a clock. the otherwise hospitable, fast service and look back at our table turns around to get I there when I can because I have a restaurant to close and the hockey clocked out! no, that's no problem. it is the same treatment when it is two or more server) I worked for years with a nationally known almost food chain. at a particular manager meeting, one of the owners of the franchise stressed that I come here to some of their stand places that do not even close until 11 or midnight and yet they have the workman down the place around 7 in the night, more concerned with pressing the customers away than take care of them. it seems when the magic watch around a watch at the rusty pelican is ringing that the service, friendliness and customer upgrade becomes a cold and hurried trsinwreck for the staff to disappear from there. if we can't get there at 12:30 or 12:30, we just take our money on the road and know that our money and our demand to eat, there is no other that the table of 6 or 12 that appears on the afternoon. when they are open for business up to a certain time, make all customers feel welcome and not like it is a race to cut off and include the lights."
