"Cindy’s Backstreet, a block from St. Helena’s main street, has been one of the best restaurants in Napa Valley for over ten years, but there is never old. The decor is a subtlely sophisticated setting for remarkable foods that meets all current buttons about “local and fresh” without pretentious. Never has a bad meal, from the most expensive fish to their $12 burgers, but my favorite may be their cured chicken. The service is knowledgeable and impeccable, but not pretentious again. These men and women know the food inside and outside because they love it, not because they have taken notes on which pepper was embellished with the oil. Cindy's is the epitome of Napa Valley restaurant - and try their fabulous “Sidecar called Desire” at the bar!"
