"I generally don't go to a cafe for food but wow I was actually impressed with what I orderedI got the fried egg sandwich (didn't expect anything super fresh maybe I'm used to Starbucks, which I still enjoy, BUT WOW) Groundworks is one of those places that clearly flies under the radar. You want a fresh breakfast, friendly service, quality coffee, and a nice atmosphere allow me to point you in the direction of Groundworks !!!! A+"

"My wife and I try OC bagel shops on Sunday mornings after hikes with our dogs. I always get the same for comparison: bacon egg cheese on everything and fresh OJ. Pros: Bacon is really good Salt bagels Decaf espresso Ample supply of bagels at noon on a Sunday Indoor and outdoor seating Cons: Coffee was OK but not great apparently more milk than coffee in my wife’s latte Fresh OJ was OK but a bit watery"

"The texture of the bagel and the service was good. The bagels are chewing and fresh. The cream cheese was also very creamy. I found the bagels too salty. Not sure if this is characteristic for the bagels of this store. I had a quarter of a strawberry beacon and a blueberry beacon with clear cheese. An excessive saltiness and absence of any significant strawberries, except the shade of the bagel, was disappointing, so I asked a substitute blueberry bag, and they graciously committed. The Blueberry Bagel sadly shared saltiness. Both strawberries and blueberries were drowned by the saltiness of the dough. It is not extreme, but it interferes with additional aromas of the bagels."

"Miss Bagel really never misses. My work hours make it hard to go in person these days, but I never miss a chance to get my favorite orders from them on my days off. My go-to is a sausage egg and cheese with a hash brown and chiptole mayo, but the Bagel with lox and flavored cream cheese has such tender fatty salmon and a perfectly toasted bagel too. For me, these are definitely the best bagels and bagel sandwiches Ive had!"

"Probably the best place for a quick and inexpensive meal in all of San Clemente. Menu is rather straightforward with 10 or so bagel sandwiches, but each one can be customized and is available on any of their multiple types of bagels they have. All bagels can be purchased individually as well and are amazing!!! All the sandwiches are really good and highly recommended... You can't go wrong! Food is literally perfect, but I would go elsewhere for drinks. Smoothies and coffeedrinks can be found elsewhere that are much better. Seating outside is very limited, which is probably there only negative. They have two large bench tables, but are often taken up by just a couple camped out on it, while everyone else iscrowded around a small little table best they can. Very friendly staff!"

"Forgetting the awful, surly woman running the cash register, this place is a joke. I ordered two bagels toasted with cream cheese and threw them away. Completely inedible. Lots of the bagels on display are badly burnt. Who thinks this place is good?? No idea why anyone would come here."

"USED to be good NOT anymore. Do not recommend. They changed something in the recipe for their bagels and now it just tastes and smells like bread. No longer “authentic” bagels! I drive a long way for their bagels…not anymore. Used to live just outside NYC and know what a bagel should taste like THESE DON’T. Looks like a bagel BUT same taste as a bagel from the supermarket. Save your time and money!"

"Bagel quality is a 1/10. Cream cheese...0/10. The bagel was dough y (not fully cooked...even though I got it toasted) and, for an everything bagel, lacked salt. What is weirder the cream cheese tasted partially salty...it tasted like it was made with sour cream. Service speed...2/10. I've had lower speed service in NYC, but...this is definitely a low quality offering. Noah's is better...and that's saying a lot!"

"Great breakfast spot or lunch. Benny's bagels is one of my standby breakfast spots on the way to work. The early riser on an asiago bagel is my weapon of choice for a great possibly healthy breakfast. The lunch combos aren't bad either."

"I ordered the chicken and rice dish, which I thought could have been $2 cheaper, but it was very tasty, especially when mixed together. The side salad had a bit too much for my liking. I have noticed in many cafes that their espresso often has grounds at the bottom, which can make the last few sips bitter. Unfortunately, this was also the case here, but overall the experience would have been very good otherwise."
