"I last reviewed Ferah Tex-Med a year ago. Much can change in a year and I thought it was time for a second review. We hd a friend coming to town and wanted to offer something different from the normal steaks, Tex-Mex and burgers, Ferah Tex-Med fit nicely with a Texas twist on traditional Mediterranean food and we could make a reservation on OpenTable. We started with the The Chef’s Sampler Platter and cocktails. The bartender mixologies has a few specialities and on this visit I tried the Forbidden Margarita it was very good and I liked the Pomegranate seeds in the drink. The Chef’s Sampler was enough to share for four people and a great way to sample many of the appetizers. All of the items were very good. Two in our party selected the Fresh Herbed Gnocchi pasta and the only complaint I hear was it was too much. Both took the leftovers home. I tried the Ferah 10 Spice Chicken, the chicken thigh was good and fork tender but the star was the Jalapeño Orzo, which had more of a kick then I anticipated. It was excellent. The only issue with the meal was we ordered too much food to save room for Turkish Coffee Creme Brûlée. This is our favorite dessert, really the only one we’ve tried. Some day we may get around to ordering another dessert, but we are going to have to pace ourselves. You can’t just talk about the food at a restaurant, many people are looking for atmosphere and service. Ferah’s has never disappointed on the atmosphere or the service and last night was no exception. You h=could have a conversation with out shouting even with the restaurant about 3 4 full in the main dining room. Unfortunately I can’t remember our servers name but they always seem to know when to stop by and check on us. One of these Sundays we will try the brunch but this is one of our goto places in Southlake."

"I only write reviews for food that is either really good, or really bad. In this case, it was really bad.Me and my wife have been eating Mediterranean food for years. We've been to the vast majority of Mediterranean hot spots in the city, aside from this one. We were close by, and decided to try a new spot. The service:Friendly and fast. No complaints here. But we don't just go to these places for the service right? The food:We ordered two falafel wraps, grape leaves, and a chicken shawarma over rice. Pretty diverse meal. There's no way everything could be bad, right? Wrong. The rice in the grape leaves was very undercooked, (Hard), and were the most bitter leaves I've had yet. Thus could be a preference thing, but it wasn't for me. The chicken shawarma came with two sauces: a white sauce and a oil based sauce. The white sauce was clearly bad/expired and the oil based sauce was sour. As for the shawarma itself, it was underwhelming. Compared to any other spot in the city, it was a fraction of the serving and quality. The rice here, was overcooked. Now for the worst part, the falafel wraps. I ended up throwing my away. The pita was falling apart and crumbling from being too dry. The falafel was oversized and dry. I even tried to add greek dressing that I had in my fridge to save it, to no avail. The takeaway:If you're craving Mediterranean in WNY, skip this one. Try Venus down the street or Shawarma City."
