"Let me tell you about a magical place called Arabian Nights Cafe. Here humble little chickpeas are converted into smooth and creamy hummus. Falafel come on your table crispy on the outside and some, like smooth and damp on the inside, burst with the taste of herbs and sesame seeds. The Shawarma consists of carefully marinated meat, warm with spices and light with taste. Soft pita, quickly heated on a grill, comes as a companion to your meal of the miracle. Rice, colored yellow and orange by the spices cooked in it, adds a whole new layer of excitement. This was once a small restaurant at the Academy and Jamboree, near a dollar tree. Tragically, one day it was found to be closed. The cries of pardon could be heard about the city, or at least in my own kitchen. Then a few weeks ago a miracle came up. A small shop front at the Academy and Flintridge was illuminated with the sign of the café. Beckoning Weary Drivers at the Academy, like an oasis on the horizon. The café is much humbler than it was. Paper plates and a smaller menu speak with these harder times. But the food has not lost magic. While sitting in the café, you can hear screams of joy from desperate seekers of delicious food. “We found you!” They look forward to coming to the tiny shop, warm flavors that welcome them and bring memories of the culinary delights they have in the past. The owner welcomes every new customer as an honorary guest. Except we are those who should be honored. A distant culture has come to our fair town in the mountains. Give us food that has seduced pallets as long as the sands have moved in the desert. No magic carpet is necessary to find this place, only a willingness to navigate the confusing parking of the Starbucks."

"Late in the week, tired from work, fried brains and looking for a place to dinner for the family is always the challenge especially after 5 o'clock. I wanted to try something different and unique. We had no Mediterranean food worth noting, so I did a search and I came over UR. Despite the mixed reviews, I wanted to try this place and give my honest review. When my daughter and I arrived in downtown Beaverton, it was our first time in this area and in search of parking was a little challenging for her. We parked about 3 blocks from the restaurant. Google Map told us it would take about 4 minutes, but I said whatever; it would be a great exercise. Parts of the city centre were closed for outdoor dining and a children's playground was set up in the street. They even had huge lawn chairs made for great photos, but unfortunately I did not take snaps. Vibes were great and the weather was perfect. As some people mentioned here, I noticed that the young guy who led the restaurant did not seem pleasant, had a Dland demon and looked quite boring, but nevertheless I did not want to allow this first impression to dictate the rest of the experience. We went ahead and placed 5 orders (chicken Kabob, lamb and beef Kabob, Chicken Shawarma, Chicken Shish Kabobs and Hummus Plate). The guy told us it was a 25 minutes. Wait, I said no problem. When we came home, my first impression was hard to get into the bag. Look at the photos I took from our meals. For the money I paid, it was enough food to feed 2. I could only get through halfway and save the rest for my lunch the next day. The rice was delicious, fluffy and had a good texture. Chicken, beef, lamb were all tasteful, not dry and had great taste The hummus was ok and the Pita bread was already cold when we came home. The food was perfectly prepared, which surprised me very much despite the first impression on the counter. Don't be fooled! This guy created a masterpiece for us! I could not identify what kind of spice was sprinkled on the top, but mixing that including the sauce in your rice with your proteins was a tasteful pleasure! I must say this is the best Mediterranean food I had in this area; this place has made my Top 5 and in any case I will come back for more."
