"I dined at Kissaki for the first time last night, after learning to my distress that my go to sushi restaurant on the Upper West Side is no longer offering outdoor dining. Kissaki is! And the outdoor setup is pretty good, under a heavy duty tent with one open side and enough heating to make dining pleasant when it is in the mid 40s outside. (Not sure it would stand up to a sub freezing night. The sushi is excellent, and although the prices are challenging, there are a few menu selections that are merely expensive (for example, the $35 chirashi bowl rather than eye popping. My daughter ordered the chirashi; I had the $60 flight of six nigiri pieces, which was delicious. Neither order, however, was quite enough for dinner, so we ended up ordering a couple of extra rolls. The service was spotty. Our waiter was friendly and professional but took an awfully long time to return with our meals. one of them five minutes ahead of the other. For me, the music (piped into the tent was a major irritation. Not every diner wants to converse at a shout over electronic dance music. They did turn it down a bit when we asked them to, but personally I could have done without it altogether."
