"There are authentic Mexican restaurants, and then there are restaurants that sell Mexican food. Taberna is firmly in the latter category. Taberna is definitely a restaurant with it 's pros and cons that when added together, suggest a decent taco place with the potential for more.At the start, service was prompt and friendly. I was seated outside almost immediately after walking in (this was on a Tuesday evening) and I had my drink order taken right away. The bartender certainly knows what they 're doing as far as the pour is concerned, but despite ordering the spicy margarita, there was hardly any spice present.I had an order of their nachos to start and while all the ingredients were present to make a proper nacho plate, everything came up short in terms of flavor. Stale chips and hardly any heat in the guac set me up to anticipate the worst for my upcoming entre. That said, once the taco 's came out my opinion changed immediately. The Al Pastor and Korean BBQ tacos were excellent on flavor, texture, and ingredient quantity. That said, there was still no heat to be found in either taco. Though at $2.75 each, the food was reasonably priced. All together the patio seating and friendly service with cheap prices made for a fine evening. While not being a fully authentic Mexican restaurant, it was certainly a welcome environment to a millennial crowd to meet up for drinks and have tacos. If that 's all you 're looking for, think of Taberna for your next time out. If you want a more authentic and spicy flavor, you would do best to look elsewhere."
