"We had a 6PM reservation on Saturday night. Hanover Streer was extremely noisy, jammed with people walking along sidewalk next to your table. This is a problem for all of the cafes along Hanover St. Imagine trying to have a pizza with honking cars and mototcycles behind you (we ate outside on asphalt street, people constaantly bumping into our table and the noise level is not to be belived NO AMBIANCE, but tuat is an issue for all cafes on this super busy and loud street. We all thought that Hanover Street should be, at least at the head end, should be turned into a pedestrian street, bricked up and only emergency vehicles be alowed in. This would immensely improve the attractivness of Hanover St, make it more people friendly and fun place to be. Cafe Amoro is a nice pizza eatery and the service was good. Vut the noise was overwhelming and made our experience miserable. I would like the neighborhood association wouild contact the ciry leadership and negotiate to transfrorm Hanover into a pedestrian mall... Merrick"

"This place is terrible. I would give it 0 stars if I could. As you can see from other reviews, this restaurant is a complete disaster and not worth visiting. I organized a group of 60 people to eat here twice, but both experiences were awful. The drinks were expensive and weak, but the worst part was the staff. The manager was incredibly rude and made our group, who were quiet and respectful, move to different tables for no apparent reason. The security guards seemed more interested in hanging out with their friends than ensuring the safety of customers. Stay far away from this place. The rooftop terrace is not worth it, there are much better options in the city for a good time. Hopefully, they will improve once the restaurant changes management."

"This restaurant has a lot of potential with its great location right off a Metra train line, good food, a nice space to watch a game, and a huge rooftop patio. Unfortunately, the management continuously makes mistakes that hurt the overall experience. They seem to have no knowledge of how to properly run a bar/restaurant. The hours are inconsistent and they recently decided to close on Sundays. The service is below average and they often do not know what beers they have available. The menu lists incorrect side options and they do not seem to care to fix it. The patio is only open for a few weeks during peak season due to staffing issues. The issues with this place are endless and although the food is good, we have given them many chances but have decided to stop going."

"it is a candied bc the place is beautiful. many history and was well maintained. the drinks at the bar and the friendliness of the staff are good. that eats terrible. lobster bisque suppe. no drop lobster for $15. prime rib and filet was ordered. terrible, cold, they heated it up, but it was gum-like when we got it back, as it might have been microwave."

"I was looking for a new rooftop spot to watch the sunset from and came across this one in an article. I made reservations and came in on mothers day at 7 to enjoy the sunset. The bar was empty and the seating was perfect. It was too cold to sit outside so I saw at a table up against the glass with the perfect view right in front of me. The service, drinks and food were all great. I enjoyed myself in the Empire room for hours. It was so good I made reservations for the following night with plans to sit outside. The following night I returned and found the bar to be very busy. Had I not had a reservation, I wouldn't have been able to get in. But I was happy to enjoy a lively crowd and was able to enjoy the view from outside. I can't wait to return in the fall. This bar is such a perfect hidden gem."
