"This place has been a Lincoln Square institution for a very long time. Congratulations to the owners who will be retiring soon. They have operated not only a great bakery and cafe for decades, they have also been a good model on how to be good employers and neighbors. I, for one, will miss stopping by for salmon with glass of wine and then fabulous dessert."

"I had no idea where my Uber driver was taking me the other day, then we we rolled up on this NOLA gem on a Sunday. What can I say, this is a place that you must experience in person. I felt like I was across the pond when I walked through their front door. Food was superb. Beer selection was on point. Customer service was excellent. They have live blues music all the time and have a beer hall in the back. Perfect place to take the family on a beautiful NOLA day. Dog friendly as well. Oh, I forgot to mention… they have a **** Mary that will melt a meat lovers heart."

"Absolutely charming restaurant that feels like someone's Nana opened it up, very homey and it smelled amazing as soon as I walked in. Sweet server who knew the names of the Lil old dudes who make this a second home. Amazing breaded pork schnitzel with onion cream gravy, perfect warm German potato salad, and a cucumber salad so good I wanted to spoon up the leftover dressing. The pork was tender and juicy, with a perfect crisp coating. I ate the entire plate and am looking forward to my next visit while I'm in town."

"Edit: before you die you must preview the menu in heaven by visiting Bruno's. I didn't know schnitzel could be so good! Truly one of this world's greatest delicacies, perfected at bruno's! The hangover soup is also a must try; don't be discouraged by the pickles in the soup, you will be distracted by the hearty potatoes and flavorful sausage. So very very good. Definitely top 100, maybe even top 50 for best meals I've ever had and I've eaten all over the world and at many a 5 star restaurant. This place isn't a diamond in the rough, its a well polished gem and truly exposes the flaw of a 5 star review, this place deserves a full 10! I'm still reeling from how good it was and it's not just the beer talking! Had an awesome lunch at Bruno's yesterday. Will definitely have to come in for national schnitzel day. I forget the name of the dish I got but man, it was really good. Awesomely authentic, bruno's has an incredibly friendly staff (considering EVERYWHERE is struggling with understaffing these days), and I wouldn't overlook their deserts either. "Spruce Pine lost a real treasure. We just found out this place closed after only eating here once. Apparently names like boeuf bourguignon and crème brûlée made people think fancy ass French food that didn 't cater to locals meat and potatoes appetite , that 's literally what a Facebook group said. I hate to break it to you, but boeuf bourguingnon is literally beef stew and crème brûlée is egg custard pudding. If names alone were enough to shut this place down, then the town didn 't deserve the exceptionally wonderful owner and his wife who came and sat with us like we had the invitation to the chef 's table. We talked French food, we talked Italian food, we talked German food, we talked wine, it was great. The owner then came to our table to prepare our crème brûlée as if I was sitting on the streets of Paris. Too bad, this place was awesome, the food was European comfort food, a direct line to the comfort food we enjoy here in the states. Spruce Pine 's loss, but I hope the owner can continue what he loves somewhere else or with people who can appreciate his wonderful cuisine."

"While visiting town for the Irish, I recommend trying out Weiss Gasthaus for a unique German dining experience. During a recent trip to Notre Dame University for a football game, my family and I stumbled upon Weiss Gasthaus on our way to our hotel in South Bend after driving for 8.5 hours from Pennsylvania. Intrigued by the rave reviews on Yelp, we decided to give it a shot and were not disappointed. My husband enjoyed a large liter mug of Kostritzer beer while I savored a dry Riesling. We started off with the delicious Brussels sprouts appetizer with bacon and maple syrup, followed by the Thursday dinner specials of brisket and roulade with sides of red cabbage and spaetzle. Both dishes were flavorful and generously portioned, served with a fresh vegetable medley and mashed potatoes. We also loved the homemade vinaigrette dressing on our dinner salads. For dessert, my dad indulged in the German Apple Cake, which he thoroughly enjoyed. The cozy atmosphere of the restaurant, adorned with Cuckoo clocks, added to our dining experience. Our server, Marye, was incredibly friendly and helpful with suggestions. Overall, we highly recommend Weiss Gasthaus for a memorable meal."

"We went here the night we arrived in the area for an extended weekend anniversary retirement celebration. It is definitely out-of-the-way, but well worth the trip. The food was excellent, the wait staff attentive (then again, with only two tables occupied it might not have been that hard). The best part (besides the food) was conversing with the people at the other table. It felt like being part of a larger family that night. Oh, the last picture is dessert- it did not last long at all. Almost too many options to select from, and none look bad There is a great selection of appetizers and entrees. We started out with the Shrimp Rosate appetizer, then moved on to our entrees. My wife chose the scallops special while I had the Rouladen. They were both fantastic. For dessert, we both went for the chocolate mocha torte which did not last long. If you like German food, I have had few better meals, even in Germany. Total cost was just under $100 before tip."

"Hidden gem. Stopped here for breakfast, had Mikes sausage skillet and apple pancakes. Great flavor with both of these items. Coffee was a 5 star flavor. The owners greeted us at front door, love the fact it is a family operated business. Mike the owner mentioned that they are serving food in several local Octoberfest events. Look for them or stop in, you won't be disappointed. Food: 5"

"Melt in your mouth chicken salad sandwich on rye. Wow I can still taste it as I type. You'd think a chicken salad wouldn't be much. Wrong. Amazing gourmet flavor. Called it in and picked it up 5 minutes later. Really nice people work there. I'll be back."

"Steve and Joy run the inn with love. We enjoyed ourselves so much for our romantic getaway last month that we had to return with our children, who also had a great time. The house, which is in the middle of all our favourite Pocono attractions, is beautifully decorated with nostalgic pieces of the original structure (including pictures that are framed with the original window panes), and kept in tip top shape. Steve and Joy are friendly and treated all the other guests and us like family. They even provide a breakfast that tops any breakfast we've ever received as part of a b&b or hotel stay by far. We heard Steve and Joy might be retiring and if it's true, we hope the next owners treat us half as nicely because we intend to keep coming back."
