"A great place if you don 't want to converse in your indoor voice. The long narrow room with no sound absorbent material creates a situation ill suited to conversation if there are more than a few customers in the place. it was about 3/4 full when we were there and the noise was ear splitting. The 4 top at which we were seated was on the small side and the crockery, cutlery, and wine and water glasses were packed onto the table. The food was mediocre. The tomato crostini was topped with rock hard tomatoes which also turned up as veg with several of the mains . It would be smart not to use them when not in season as they have no taste. The trio of rapini, tomatoes and salt crust roasted potatoes which appeared boiled and salted rather than roasted, showed up on too many of the mains. Little evidence of creativity in the kitchen. My wife 's sardines were fairly fishy smelling and we always expect them to be a little strong, these were more so than usual. The fried calamari was nicely done, however. The octopus was pretty good, but at 32 for 1 decent sized tentacle, it seemed a little too pricey, more so when you consider the lackluster accompaniments. I am probably spoiled by having eaten the octopus starter at Ferro which is the best value octopus dish i have seen anywhere. At 16 including potatoes, green veg and romesco sauce, it makes a very filling meal. And you can enjoy a comparable noise level at Ferro as well."
