"The Original Taco House in Portland Oregon, amazing original freshly prepared ingredients, American Mexican flair and not found anywhere else!!! The Original Taco House in Portland Oregon. You may be right about one thing, this food is not authentic Mexican food from Mexico but the most original, large portioned, tastiest Cali/Mexi recipes I believe the whole family will enjoy. If you are picky about service get take out. I have been eating at the Original Taco House in Portland Oregon since my Mother worked there in the 70's I even worked there while in High School myself my brother Bob even worked there as a manager for many years. And I can tell you first hand all of the ingredients are made fresh daily on the premises at the small factory next door. My favorites: The enchiladas are out of this world. Especially the beef enchilada which is made with freshly roasted shredded beef. And the enchilada sauce is simply amazing. They pour a lot of it over the enchiladas, add a lot of cheese on top, with some crispy flats to eat it with(get extra flats to slather your enchilada over them to eat together). Get the Nachos (El Picador), a lot of cheese, their flavorful seasoned meat the most delicious salad dressing on this planet goes on top (can order this many ways). The taco salads are just as great (I recommend the house salad dressing and some to take home). Talk about grrrreat a taco! At The Original Taco House (any location), you get tons of meat cheese on the tacos. For vegetarians that eat cheese, I recommend the Cheese/onion enchiladas house salad dressing for the salad with the chips salsa that are also freshly made to die for!! For dessert they have home made bunuelos (crispy cinnamon/sugar toasty things) they stick into the peppermint Ice Cream. I now live on the East Coast now if there was a chain of those restaurants here, I would eat there a couple of times a week. Don't take any negative reviews to heart, try this food for yourself. There! Now you have my personal favorite dishes listed above to try for yourself. Heck, if I was local, I would not hesitate to get the items listed above that I recommended, catered to your next event. For now I just have to order the enchilada sauce, salad dressing, salsa chips by mail order only, to get my fix!! Ask for Nate when you go to the Original Taco House and tell him Kathy said HI! Pros: It's a cute place, and homey. The cocktail lounge has great drink prices love the food. Cons: Good and reliable help is hard to find, just ask for your favorite server when you go. Overall user rating: Highly Recommended."

"I’ve been here a few times and for Cajun it’s decent.I ordered the oyster po’boy with extra oysters, which has an up charge, which I don’t mind, I find that almost all places don’t put enough oysters on their sandwich for some reason. In New Orleans they pile them on to where they fall off the plate.I found the oysters to be a bit over fried and small, glad I ordered extra. ?. They were a bit over salty for me. The rest of the sandwich was flavorful, the bread, which is very important to any Cajun po’boy was good along with the lettuce, tomatoes and spread. Overall a decent sandwich but I’ve had a lot better on canton street. The steak tacos classic beef tacos were a bit pricy at 18 for two and only one side. The tacos were delicious but the hush puppy side was dry and had no flavors. The classic burger was flavorful along with the side of fries.Tip Sundays are .50 raw oysters, they were fresh and delicious.Service was great. Greeted at the door BU the hostess with a smile and seated immediately with reservations. The waitress was perfect. Never needed anything, covered us perfectly.Parking, like all of canton street is sparse and 10 if you can find a spot.Would I go again? Sure, to hang with friends but not for Cajun food. There is a better tasting Cajun restaurant down canton street and have there own parking lot with plenty of spaces at no charge."
