"I'm surprised I got to be the first customer since it took me over an hour coming from work to get there! Really hope this place does well! Everyone was very very nice and welcoming and the food was overall delicious and very filling and satisfying! I had the boerewors roll with bacon mac cheese and a koeksusters for dessert. The boerewors was really good, I tasted a little sweetness and a lot of good grilled smokey ness and it was nicely charred like I like. I normally don't eat onions but the pickled onions were really good and go well with the roll. It looks like a small ish sandwich but everything is really filling so I was stuffed by the time I was done! The bacon mac and cheese was so smooth and creamy and probably the best mac cheese I've ever had. Just never had it so creamy before! It goes well with the cheddar jalapeno cornbread. And koeksusters should be sold in boxes by the dozen and replace donuts and other pastries because it's so sweet and super satisfying. It's a little crunchy on the outside and a little cake y like Firecakes donuts, so really really good! I definitely want to come back and try a lot more of the menu! Part 2! I had a half rack of ribs and a pulled pork sandwich and they have every other bbq place I've eaten at since moving to Chicago beat hands down! Ribs are always good but their ribs are excellent!! The dry rub alone and whatever they do to cook them, it's just fantastic. It melts in your mouth, it's juicy and tender, comes right off the bone.. So good you don't need any sauce. But their sauces are all incredibly good though I found the bourbon bbq to be my favorite. They even do better bourbon bbq than Americans. And the pulled pork sandwich is huge! They give you a lot more pulled pork and in bigger chunks than I've ever seen on any other pulled pork sandwich anywhere. Their Cole slaw is different but I love all the pickled vegetables it's really tangy and something somewhat sort of like a kimchi meets a sour kraut it's a unique taste really and a good one! But yes, those are the best ribs I've ever had. Without sauce, flavor alone, by far the best! OMG!"
