"We went to Sugar Freak for their happy hour on 5/25/23 for the first time. The happy hour is truly unbeatable and the food is a amazing! Ambiance 10/10: I love the decor with many traditional pieces that make you feel like you're on an New Orleans bayou from crocodile heads to mirrors and figurines. The owner was very thoughtful with the decor and wanted to give an authentic Louisiana/Creole vibe. The restaurant is huge and has ton of space inside with a lot of outdoor dining as well. The bar is also really large so there's seating there too. Service 10/10: The staff was extremely friendly yet laid back. The gave our toddler crayons and paper when she started getting fussy and even rushed her food out first. I really appreciate that they were kid friendly and no one made me feel embarrassed for the 2-3 minutes she did cry. The food did take about 30 minutes to come out but it was completely worth the wait. Also, we were having so much fun vibing and enjoying our drinks we hadn't even noticed how much time had passed. Drinks 20/10We came in for the happy hour and keep it between me and you, the cocktails were worth way more than $8! They tasted amazing and were super strong. I had a red sangria and my man had a Zombie and he couldn't believe how strong his drink was for just $8. They also tasted really good and you can tell they didn't use bottom shelf liquor! We ended getting 2 rounds and were feeling super nice when we left Food 10/10We didn't come in to eat initially but because the drinks and ambiance were so good, we decided to give their food a chance and I'm so happy we did. My 2 year old had the banana pudding pancakes and we all ended up sharing it because it was sooo good. That was the best banana pudding I've ever had! So creamy and delicious. 15/10Bae had the seafood and grits which had shrimp, crawfish, crab and lobster in it. We're not from NOLA but it sauce gave a jambalaya feel which was incredible. 10/10I played it safe with a shrimp po' boy and it was fried perfectly, seasoned and the bread was even flavorful too. It also was a big portion so I I had a lot to take home. 9/10Our family really enjoyed Sugar Freak! Everything from the staff, vibes, food and drinks were all 10's across the board! Can't wait to come back for brunch! Definitely recommend 10/10Follow @britheunicorn_eats for more!"
