"We were a group of eight, who visited on Friday. It is a cozy English Pub-style restaurant. I went outside of my comfort zone and ordered the French Toast: two thick slices of bread edged with Nutella and topped with Pastry Cream. What a splurge! No regrets. Hubby had a Carlsberg and the Roast Beef sandwich, with a healthy order of fries. Thank you to our server Ashley! The only negative is that the rest rooms need a lot of work. We did have a great meal."

"Our Server did a horrible job. When I asked what the Chefs Special was he responded by saying Starwberry Grouper and that's it. His name is Patt B. Horrible server. When he worked with another table he explained the entire dish, showed the fish on the wall, etc. I think it had a lot to do with the color of my skin. Needless to say I won't be revisiting. The food was pretty good, not amazing. I ordered the Chef's Whole Fish, Chefs Fish, and the Huckleberry Goat for dessert."

"Have had this place on my radar for sometime took a chance and got a reservation for four at 8pm. With my name in the reservation book I begin to do some research on the chef, and also what was on the menu for the evening. Naturally the four courses was happening beginning with the beef tartare beautifully plated with an egg yolk quinelle of carrot pesto grain mustard and Dijon. Very delicate the meat basically melted as soon as it hit the tongue. Next course I ordered the butternut squash ravioli and Bronzino the sabayon was exactly what the doctor ordered to tie both the ravioli and Bronzino together. The rest of the group got the gnocchi which I described them as little pillows of potato heaven, not your ordinary dense dumplings, almost reminded me of gnudi I could have polished 3 bowls of them. For main I received the triple seared beef cooked perfectly nestled between a gratin and root vegetable. Dessert I received the three creme brûlée the almond was my favorite following the coffee than the green tea. I am glad to see this place in Newburgh such a beautiful setting as soon as you step into the restaurant it's unbelievable the ambiance and the true attentiveness of the waitstaff as well. For such a young chef truly a visionary and making notches in the culinary world of the Henson valley. Well done LSB one of my only critiques would be I don't drink doesn't mean I don't enjoy something with some personality, and distinguishing traits behind it. Will definitely be returning."

"This is not a sea food restaurant. The food was very good and the menu was simple and flavorful. The wine list was incredibly long (with a small font size of about a 5),complicated and overpriced (I would guess 5 times the retail). The wine list was so complicated that I honestly think there should be a sommelier on staff. That would help in choosing the wine and I could justify the overpriced wine list. The wait staff was not trained for serving the wine. When we received our wine it was not of proper temperature. A certified Somm would not have allowed that. If you are going for the food only, then yes I recommend. If you are going for a wine/food experience there are many other restaurants in Portland."

"Came here with a small group of about 5 people and left very full and happy. The ambience is old southern home, right down to the nostalgic narrow wooden staircase to the second floor. We sampled most of the recommended dishes. Some favorites included the fried green tomatoes and the cornbread for appetizers; the pork chops, fried chicken, and butcher steak for entrees; and all three desserts. For me especially the chocolate-caramel and the banana pudding. The location is pretty great too, with a lot of nightlife right around the corner."

"South City Kitchen is tried and true! We were quickly seated and greeted by our server. We gave her our entire order and it came out fast and hot! Fried green tomatoes and she crab soup for appetizers were hot, freshly prepared and delicious. Then, the FAMOUS chicken with mashed potatoes and collards was on point! The chicken was super crispy on the outside and juicy and moist inside. I’d love to try something else on the menu but I just can’t. The chicken is too too good."

"I 've been debating whether or not to go to Claxon 's, after seeing some of the reviews it got here on the ol ' Internet. I was convinced I wouldn 't go. But my wife heard from a friend it 's one of the best places to eat. So I thought why not we went and it was amazing. Service was somewhat slow but they were very kind. I had the Philly Sandwich, it was one of the best things I 've ever tasted, my wife, the ribs, I had one, it was easily the best rib I 've tasted here in this state. So please, don 't listen to the poor reviews, you have to go and experience it for yourself."
