"How Gramercy Tavern earned its reputation for good (or great) food is beyond me, my husband and our two dinner guests. The chefs/cooks appear to have dumped nothing other than salt on all the food. My entrée was so bad that it got sent back. My appetizer (pasta with Bolognese sauce) was drowning in oil; it was disgusting. At the end of the meal our waiter did the right thing; she took the cost of my dinner off the tab. If someone gave me a gift certificate to this restaurant, it would be thrown in the trash."

"We went here for my friend's birthday and it was my first time coming to this place. When we were seated, our waiter came to ask us for any drinks to get us started and we told him we wanted to do wine tasting. He told us to hold on a second and walked off. He went to talk to a coworker and came back 5 minutes later. Then he took our wine choices. Proceeding the night, he wasn't too attentive of us and when he took our entree order, we had to repeat it three times because 2 of those times he was looking at other waiters and customers. So after the third time, he finally got our order right and went to put it in. Keep in mind it was only 2 of us and we ordered very simple entrees. When we were done he asked for any desserts and I told him we were celebrating a birthday and if the restaurant did anything for birthdays. He looked at my friend (birthday girl) and said no. That I had to buy a dessert and the restaurant doesn't offer it. I was honestly shocked on the way he said it and his only solution was for it to be bought. I've worked at restaurants before and instead of saying no, we usually just got a manager and the manager would decide to approve something or not. He didn't even offer to talk to a manager. So then I just asked for the check. Another server came by and asked if we were okay and I asked him about birthday desserts. This nice, young man said that the restaurant DID do birthday desserts and that he would work something out. He came back very quickly with a birthday dish and was very nice and attentive of us afterwards. Definitely made the night more better for us than our original waiter."

"breakfast on Saturday during work in the environment. classic diner with a unique local feeling. immediately from the kindest hostess I met in michigan, at the door greets and sit quickly. our waitress was quick to visit us and helpful with recommendations on the menu. The breakfast menu was extensive with many possibilities to satisfy even the most picky eaters. ordered a omelet that was cooked for perfection. my friend ordered french toast with obst and he was satisfied. I'm really gonna have breakfast here when I'm in town!"

"I really loved this place. Great food and fantastic wine. I've never had such a juicy and tender ****. Wow! The staff was super friendly and helpful. Our celebration was a special night. We will definitely return. You have a wine club you can also join, which has many cool advantages. You have a whole tasting room in front of the restaurant if you just want to go for the wine. I would definitely recommend a reservation as it is almost always quite busy."

"The appetizers were excellent. We loved the new candied bacon and cheese plate. Each entree was also great. Especially like the prime churrasco grilled steak and loved the Gnocchi special. The cheesecake special was also outstanding. Most especially, our waittress was amazing. She was very accomodating with our requests, attentive to refilling our drinks and patient with our slowness in ordering and eating. She was unfailingly pleasant and made great suggestions for the wine accompaniments. We will definitely be back!"

"this was our first time to eat outside, and not sure that we do it again. Although eating as always was very good, the portion sizes are significantly smaller (and yet the prices rose) unfortunately the fans were not up on us, but others were behind us. we asked our server about it and we said they were broken. that was disappointing not to have a real airflow. also the lights went to and from at least 4 times, which was strange. the additional lighting was nice, but as soon as they got used to it, it would turn off. the server was very nice and took care of us."
