"I have been dining at Silver's since I was 18 years old, back when I was a student at Southampton College. Now, at 49 years old, I still frequent this restaurant. Back then, Garrett's grandfather was in charge and the place looked completely different. Gone are the days of cigars and magazine racks in the entrance. My friends and I used to visit just for their famous clam chowder, which had a hint of tarragon that I had grown to love. Despite the occasional sand grains, it was a delightful experience that we would save up for by working at nearby restaurants like Driver's Seat or Lobster Inn. Silver's was a place of flavored sodas, salads, soups, and an atmosphere filled with beautiful people. I remember they used to showcase famous diners on the wall, like Truman Capote or Woody Allen. Although those days may be long gone, I still rate Silver's an 11 out of 10. What really impresses me is when Chef Garrett, the grandson of the original owner, personally brings out the lobster bisque to my table. Even dining alone now, it feels like he may still remember me from all those years ago. It's a nostalgic and special experience that I cherish."
