"the culinary experience was very good. very difficult to hear our server during the meal due to the noise level. the lobster was very good, but not a great value. I had more tasteful ny strip steaks and the most expensive bottle of wine I could find was 155 dollars. a very nice birthday dinner in the did, but this restaurant and prices are beneficial for business cost accounts and not family food."

"The food and service at this restaurant are incredible. We arrived a bit early for our reservation and were impressed to see many expensive cars using the valet service. The oysters were fresh, and my ribeye cap and lobster tail were definitely worth the price. My friend tried the lamb and said it was the best he's ever had. They have a great selection of bubbly drinks. The service was excellent - attentive but not overbearing. I would love to go back soon."

"We were so excited to try Steak 48 as it has such great reviews but to us, it honestly didn't live up to the hype. It was very good but there are plenty of very good steak restaurants in Charlotte. Be careful of choosing the backbar seating for dinner as they will very seriously seat you at the bar and not a table in the bar area. Sitting at the bar for a $300+, 2 hour dinner is a little awkward (think holding the menu in your lap while you eat your appetizer). Overall, we will very likely go back for a special occasion or two as it was very good and the service was impeccable."

"Able to make reservations for this past Friday evening. We had a wonderful experience. Great wine selection. Had the Raymond Reserve Cab.. yummy. Appetizer was Beef Carpaccio.. crusty bread had great flavor and the beef was light enough to not fill us up. Next our entrees. I had the steak special.. butchers cut.. the cap of the ribeye. Great marble on it and tender. Ordered medium rare and cooked perfectly! Needed nothing else..My husband had the venison.. again medium rare.. tender and not gamey."

"bears this has been one of our favorite spots for years. we went a few weeks ago and we noticed a big drop in the food and service. one of our party had the trout and garnel and it was a terrible pairing. when the burger of my sohne came with the tomate, that he had asked not to be there; the waitress said I guess the cook is sad to praise his job. they continued to tell us the concerns and reasons for closing, which is why we did not go there. wein was 30% discount, which was a bonus. we returned last night when we thought that the night there might be something special. there were several items not available, service was worse and only wein over $150 was on sale. I know that the personal would have been emotional, but if they calculate the same amount, then the service and the meal should meet the same standards. the closure should be held for another month. there were people who had gift cards of christmas who could not get a reservation to use them as there were several private functions in the last week. we will miss the bears of the past."

"Visiting New Orleans for a conference and had the opportunity to try this restaurant. It was a beautiful walk from the restaurant and stepping into their lobby we were greeting but their staff. We waited in the lobby for all the guests to arrive and then were escorted to the table. We had an amazing tower of delicious appetizers that included lobster tail, oysters, crab, seared tuna, shrimp and much more. Incredible appetizer. Their mixed drinks were excellent as well. I went on to order and enjoy their Wagyu ribeye. It was one of the best steaks I've ever had. Around the table other guests thoroughly enjoyed their dinner and eventual dessert. I highly recommend this restaurant and was blessed to have a friend John Freeman introduce me!"

"Always good food, very clean place. Celebrating an 8 year olds birthday, and the hibachi is always his favorite entertainment. We caught them on what had to be an unexpectedly busy night, and service was very slow. However, the manger gave our entire hibachi table a 10% discount to compensate us, without even anyone asking, which was appreciated. Would dine again."

"I had heard great things about this restaurant, so I made reservations for my birthday a week in advance. Our party of seven experienced a very long wait, and when our food finally arrived, only half of the dishes were served. The remaining items came out much later, by which time the food had gone cold. My steak was overcooked and had to be sent back, and my salmon was undercooked and also had to be sent back. Overall, it was a negative experience as the waiter seemed frustrated with the kitchen. However, the restaurant did take off several items from our bill."

"If I could start with the peanut butter conversion with vanilla ice cream and would not ruin my dinner. But then I would be too full to eat our spicy wok Calamari who was the appetizer. And follow him from my Shrimp Capellini (angel hair pasta, shrimp, tomatoes, basil, garlic, sweet red peppers). My partner ordered the rubber train and had a delicious kick. We were sitting outside. the staff was all super friendly and let you fill like family. It was a perfect night outdoor with friends."

"they were extremely polite from the beginning. they wanted to know if we wanted one or one table for our birthday party. we chose the table, and they only let us wait when our whole party arrived. that's a big plus. the public parking was great. it was easy to find a meter near. I know it's a Wednesday, that's still an important plus. the chimay blues were strong and great! only pamper if they are not the specified driver. the lambec was not tasty to me. it was great when it hits the cradle, but then it tasted like robotussin! the muddles had a fantastic broth, which was spicy and very tasteful. my highlight were the sweet kartoffel fries and the burger! wow! the cheese is melted on my side. I'm also a big fan of tomatenreliquie. overall it was a great birthday party! they asked definitiw if we needed something huge. it is a Pet-Peve if server do not place this crucial question after our first bite. I'm coming back here. great experience!"

"I reserved a table for four several weeks in advance on Open Table. I specifically requested one of the half-round booths in the balcony since we were bringing some good friends to help us celebrate our 37th wedding anniversary. I called one day before the reservation to confirm they would be able to accommodate the request. The young lady confirmed it would be no problem since we were dining early (5:45 pm). I even called the day of the reservation a few hours before to confirm yet again, as I wanted our friends(who had not dined @WCK before) to enjoy the great view from the lowest balcony level of the open kitchen. Upon arrival, I asked the hostess if they were still going to be able to accommodate my special request. She nodded yes and away we went upstairs. Unfortunately, the hostess seated us in the highest level at an end table that could not even see the lower level. I was very disappointed but didn’t say anything since all of the booths appeared to be occupied. I understand things happen and our guests did not complain, but I was disappointed that the restaurant could not accommodate my repeated request from several weeks earlier. Other than the non-existent view and rather cramp space of the top corner table (plus it was a bit warm), service by Lex and the food was excellent. The server who brought our iced teas (one sweet one unsweet) misidentified them and caused an additional delay while one was replaced since I sipped from the wrong one. My wife also noticed the Box Office salad is now in a plate instead of the normal bowl that we have seen previously. She thought it was smaller than before and the presentation was not as nice. The entrees (filet, parma grana chicken, short rib, prime rib) all received good reviews. Taste temperature of the food was very good. All in all- a 4* experience that could have been 5* had we been given the booth requested repeatedly promised. We still love the place and will be back with other friends family."

"this was one of those places where the experience actually happens. beautiful place in the interior of bend with beautiful tree branches and red lights wrapped around the door. I thought I booked a reservation, but I guess it didn't go through. the hostess brought us in tonight, which was great. our waitress EL-I-ANA was awesome. ensured that we had free brot, water were always filled and was very polite. Not as if she had hated her job, like most people in this industry. my dame had the king salmon, which tasted like sweetness, but on the best wise. brown sugar, beautiful kartoffel maische mix, with bio everything. I had the fillet mignon, the crust on the top was perfect, slightly softer crunch, then beautiful blood red meat. we will be coming back"
