"SHAME! Shame on me for living in Anchorage for 5 years and just now trying this place! (in my defense, it 's only open on weekends It is quaint in a way that few Alaska restaurants are. It feels like like a place in a small town in Colorado, on the lake. The ambiance is so cozy, and so unique. It looks like of like an old timey General Store, but yet it doesn 't feel at all kitschy. You really have to see it to get what I 'm talking about. It has the coolest bathroom sink in Alaska. Charm. That 's the word I 'm looking for. (thanks fellow reviewer Meredith Z!! . This place oozes it. Their signature dish is biscuits and gravy. So, naturally, I didn 't get them. I 'm just not into the dish in general. I 'm into biscuits. I 'm into gravy. But, together? Something about eating a biscuit with a fork and knife, like it 's a mini-steak...I just can 't get behind it. I still wanted to try the gravy though, so I got Trig 's Special it 's pretty much a reindeer sausage and veggie hash, topped with gravy. I can vouch for it, and for the gravy, it was really good. The coffee was also excellent, as was the speed and friendliness of the service."
