"Had a great breakfast with my daughter this morning. I had the Chili Verde burrito pictured. Burrito was good, but the beans did not taste authentic to me. 62 yo Hispanic, so I know beans, lol. Shared biscuits n gravy. The biscuits were soft and moist. Those were great. The gravy needed some sausage bits in it to bring the flavor up. Slice of ham was huge! It was also thick and tasty. Great service, tho. I'll definitely go back to try other things."

"The staff were so attentive! They saw in our reservation details that one friend is vegetarian so made sure to point out what had no fish in it and also noted that they could make any dish vegetarian for them. "This place was packed on a Sunday night!!! The weather has been getting really cold and Hotaru always hits the right spots! There is plenty of street parking but you might need to walk a bit as it gets busy during dinner time. When my friends and I come here, we usually open for one of their dinner specials. The nigiri set choice of udon/soba comes with a lot of nigiri. I like to get the hot udon! You do have the option to get it hot or cold. I've tried many different places for amaebi but this place has it the best. I forgot to take a picture but they deep fried the shrimp heads for you and it's good to eat when it's fresh out of the kitchen!"

"Good value and also good if you like that “home cooking” style Japanese food. Nov 26, 2022 update: Been here many times for dinner but this was the first time for lunch. It’s pretty much the same menu but I think a bit cheaper. Spicy chicken was good, especially with the rice. Miso soup good and I like the iceberg lettuce salad with the creamy dressing. All this for $13. We also had the fried mackerel with steak combo. This was one of the specials on the white board menu in the back. I think it was $19. Service always friendly and fast here."

"This was such a great find! Visiting from LA and I wanted to make sure we got to eat some sushi while in Portland. I found this place and was able to make a reservation by calling. The parking situation is a bit interesting. There is a structure attached to the building the restaurant was in and when we went in for dinner we paid while going into the structure, and then there are 2 receipts that it gives you. One is to be left on the dashboard of your car and the other you can give to your server and they give you cash back for paying for parking! Thought that was interesting. The servers were all very kind and helpful There is a wide range of options on the menu and everything we got was so good! I ordered the chawanmushi which was really good! We ordered our meals from the selected dinner options. They came with a salad, miso soup, rice, and some tsukemonos. My boyfriend got the combination entree with the tonkatsu and sushi combination. The tonkatsu was a good portion size but tasted like just another tonkatsu I have had. The sushi came with a variety of nigiri and a tekka maki (tuna cut roll). I ordered the single entree with the sashimi. This sashimi was one of the best I have ever had, outside of Japan! The cuts were very thick and all of the fish tasted so fresh. We also ordered some salmon, otoro (fatty tuna), and hamachi (yellow tail) nigiri and wow they were all so good! The toro was the favorite for how buttery and soft it was. We loved all the sushi so much we came back aging for lunch on our trip! I would definitely stop here if you like sushi. The prices were all very reasonable for the quality of food!"

"First, the food is okay. But very sweet. The issue is service. If you want to have food, go on. But you expect services, I'm sorry that no service will be delivered after dinner. Actually, we asked other supplement 3 times with 3 different waiters, then they said yes. But only word. As a photo we asked for refill dishes. Then again said yes, but again only word. After we finished the dinner and I was mad at the service, bringing food carts with hot soup several times on my back, without pretext or mentioning) then said that you need more supplements? - I'd tell you? I've already eaten. Conclusion: There is no difference between Togo or in the hall. But you even don't have to pay a service. Very disappointed."
