"It was great, but not exceptional. I lived in Oregon about 20 years ago and I am very aware of McMenamins in the Pacific Northwest. An old friend and I were in Oregon at the same time, so we decided to come together for a beer and burger. We came at 6:30 and the place wasn't busy. I would appreciate about one third of the capacity. We sat, but after 10 minutes we haven't been greeted by our server yet. I stood up and told another server that we were ready to order, and she said she would send a server immediately. More 5 minutes pass and no server yet. When I got up, our server took it and came by right away. She took our job and apologized for the delay. Our burgers came before the beers. I would have been nice to drink a little beer while I chat with my old friend while we waited for our order. The food was great, and the wait wasn't too long for the burgers. When we ate and chat, we drank our beers and searched our server for another round. We finally found her and she brought her out right away. However, when it was time to pay the bill, our server was instructive again. This time, my friend could look for our server. We paid the bill, but while we paid, my friend asked if we could take our drinks outside and order additional drinks as we wanted to smoke some cigars. She didn't know the answer, so we let our cigars enjoy without drinks. Long story short, great food, great atmosphere, but lousy service. If we had been more attentive, it would have been an extraordinary time."
