"We hadn't been to LM since before COVID. We had forgoten how good this restaursnt is overall. We ordered the parrillada for 2 and let's just say it was enough food for 4 people (see pic). The chicken was tender, juicy, well seasoned and tasty. The beefskirt steak was very good, again well seasoned and fresh. We were very surprised by the amount of medium size shrimp the dishhad. The shrimp was cooked as it should be, not over done and the seasoning used was on point, lemony and garlicky. There wasalso shredded pork with pinaple on this dish. We could have done without the pork just because we don't like savery with sweet.Plenty of grilled bell peppers and onions were used. All of this came with a big serving of rice and beans (see pic). The mealstarted out with complimentary sevicha and tostdadas which was good. We had to have beer and margaritas to help us savor thiswonderful meal (see pic). The atmosphere was very festive and friendly. They had a 8 person Mariachi band playing. The musicwas very authentic and enjoyable. We wouldn't mind hiring this band for a special occasion. In fact, we stayed much longer thanwe planned just to listen to the music. Our waiter Omar was fantastic. He was friendly, helpful, outgoing and very attentive.Event hough LM was full the whole time we were there and Omar had a couple of large tables we were never lacking for anything.Every time we were about to look for him to order something esle, he showed up out of nowhere, almost like he was reading ourminds. LOL We will be return soon to say the least. Thank you Omar and LM Roy/Joel"

"--- The vibes have changed here. I visited tonight and noticed that the salsa was a dark red instead of the usual bright red it has been for over 20 years. We tried the Charra beans, which looked and tasted different from what I remember. The recipe for the tacos al pastor has completely changed as well; the meat had an almost orange-red hue this time, and it was an improvement. However, it was surprising that the tacos a la mexicana didn’t come with cilantro and were a bit wobbly. Unfortunately, the service from a waitress who has been there for a few months was disappointing. She seemed disinterested in her job and reluctant to make multiple trips. For instance, instead of bringing drinks right away, she waited until the cheese with chorizo was ready, which took too long. On a positive note, they now serve two corn tortillas with each taco. I’m sad to see these changes taking place. **October 17, 2014** It’s hard to believe it has been three years since my last visit. Today, we returned to our favorite Mexican restaurant (this one). They have the best salsa on earth and a clean, fresh, vibrant atmosphere. The service from Marta and Rigo, the owners, was fantastic. Marta is one of the kindest people you’ll ever meet. They have changed the recipe for tacos al pastor, and while I preferred the old version, this one is still better than what I've had elsewhere. The Charra beans are excellent, and they've been around since '91. Marta mentioned she gets tired from working all day and looks forward to a break; she seems so young. They hinted that they would close when they decide to retire. I reminisced about visiting them at their location on Buford Highway and asked how many of their customers were veterans from the old place. It turns out only a couple, including myself. This is definitely one of my top five favorite restaurants. **August 28, 2011** I visited Mi Casa again this evening. We live in Chattanooga but were in town and had to stop by. While there’s not much we miss about Atlanta, this place is one of the exceptions. The cheese with jalapeños is the best, and the tacos al pastor and chorizo are exceptional. The Charra beans are incredible—there isn’t a bad item on the menu. Tonight, we were served by Marta, one of the owners, who is just as lovely as Rigo. I want to address the younger reviewers who have criticized this wonderful establishment, but I must admit they are correct about the guacamole. The guac served here is one of the few disappointing items; it seems like it came from a tube, which doesn’t make sense given how great everything else is. There is a more authentic guacamole available as a side, but the version that comes with the meal is lacking. I have been dining at Mi Casa since they were at their previous location, even having visited when they were still on Buford Highway. In my opinion, this is the best Mexican food in the metro Atlanta area. The tacos al pastor and salsa are fantastic, and we also love the frijoles a la charra, which are delicious Mexican-style pinto beans. Rigo and Marta, the owners, are almost always present, which nearly guarantees an excellent dining experience."
