"At least once a week my family and I want to support one of our local restaurants and we have been successful doing this during this difficult pandemic. I had a major craving for authentic Mexican food and checked reviews on yelp to help with my decision. El Charro made the cut and I ordered just for my husband and my self, kids wanted pizza per usual. The husband request steak, chicken and shrimp fajita it came with Mexican rice, beans and avocado salad he loved his food and it said it was really flavorful. Now for me....I ordered the shrimp and scallops this came with Mexican rice and a salad. I wasn't a fan of this plate is was very watery and the texture of scallops were pretty tough so this is where the three stars resulted in. I'm a huge seafood fan like huge that I haven't eaten meat in three years well for other reason too. So I was really sad after eating this but the good thing is there's always another time. The prices of the meals were decent I actually would try this place again. I would say for someone who is a Pescatarian they have many options and this is nice to see. Sooooo til next time I look forward to having a better experience."

"I'm out of town, and my brother lives in Waterloo, the last times I visited, we went here for fun! Yes, FUN! The food is awesome, the drinks are great, but the staff is amazing!!! We have an explosion!!! The staff is so much fun!!! Last time we were there, Karla was our server, she was just great. The mangers made sure we were great and we were!! Great food, great prices, great time and great staff!! I can't wait to see you again!"

"I have been a serious fan of Gringos since they opened over 25 years ago, buying lunch from there at least once a week. Something has changed in the last year, and I won't go back again. The last 3-4 times I've been there, the rice was so dried up, it was like biting a rock; food portions have gotten smaller, while prices have increased. I personally witnessed a customer order 12 tacos with sour cream, and get charged $12 extra for the added sour cream. Manager was so rude when the customer complained and refused to pay $12 for sour cream. There was no compromise."
