"Meh. I don 't see the alure, but one of my friends raves about it, so I decided to give it another try. Afterall, it had been at least 4 years since my last visit. The restaurant is one large room with a high ceiling and a large fan. They have a coveredpatio outside, inside regular seating (a few booths along the wall, but mostly table and chairs and bar area seating (about 3stools available . The bar area is also the walk up ordering section, so it can get a little crowded. The service was fair andthe food arrived fast for the crowd they had this particular day. I was not satisfied with my meal. I purposely orderedsomething easy so I wouldn 't be disappointed (that didn 't work well and I was also very hungry; nothing worse than notenjoying your meal when you are seriously hungry. I figured a burger and fries would be satisfactory not so much. The parmesanand rosemary fries arrived cold, the burger was charred on the edges, the lettuce was so large I had to tear it in half and Ihad to ask again for mayonnaise even though I specifically requested it when initially placing my order. I waited at the tablefor about 3 minutes then finally had to get up and ask another person since my server didn 't return. That kind of nonsensereally makes me upset. That 's one of the reasons I don 't like the multiple people service restaurants do these days. They aretoo busy and you lose consistency with runners taking the food to your table. I heard another table return their waffles becausethey arrived cold, so I know it wasn 't just me. They do not have sweet tea, but they do have lemonade available. I mixed my teawith lemonade to made it sweeter. I will say the prices are pretty good. My meal was under $20.00 even after tipping 20% (yes, even with all of that, I still tipped 20% . There is literally nothing special about this place, in my opinion. I absolutelyHATE giving lower than 4 starts. I take reviewing seriously and love to see good places thrive. I also don 't li"

"My wife and I have tried almost every pizza place in Madison and we love Ian's. We hadn't been in a while and we decided to write a review about how great it was the other day it was when we had delivery. Ian's across-the-board is one of the best pizzas for the price and taste that you can get. Of course this is my opinion people like different kinds of pizza. Some people like deep dish some people like New York style excetera excetera. I would compare Ian's to New York style pizza. It's very thin and very large pieces. It's the kind of pizza that you can fold in half. If you know what I'm talking about then that's all you need to know. We love their 20in cheese pizza. The slices are huge, like out of a cartoon. It can easily feed a family of four, no problem. The cheese blend they use is incredible. It's stretchy and slightly salty and wonderful. It goes great on every pizza. Their red sauce isn't overly sweet or too spicy. It's a perfect balance in the middle that appeals to everyone. Their crust is my wife's favorite part. It's not cracker thin, more like new York style that's thin enough to fold while you eat and the end pieces are chewy and yummy. You can even buy the dough to make your own pizza at home, which is a great deal! My wife absolutely loves their Buffalo chicken pizza. It's spicy and yummy and sprinkled with creamy bites of blue cheese that cools the heat. One of our favorite parts of Ian's is that in the restaurant you can buy pizza by the slice. This is great for a few reasons. First, their slices are huge so you only need one or two to fill up anyway. Second, they have so many different types of pizza (like mac and cheese or loaded potato) that would be great to try, but you might not want to order a whole pizza in case it's not your favorite. It allows you to try out some new flavors without committing to a whole pizza. We also love their breadsticks. Their made from the same dough as the crust so they're thick and chewy, dusted with parmesan and Italian seasoning. They're massive as well so it's a great deal to order for a large crowd. We love Ian's and order it everytime we have company since it feeds a crowd and it's a huge crowd pleaser."
