"So, in order to understand my review, you have to understand my family. For my wife, her body is a temple and, if she had her way, she would only eat plants that grew in the shade with peer counselors on standby 24/7. As for myself, I am the opposite. This generally means I am at home with pub fare and the like. One child is living proof that the human body can live on nothing but noodles. Seriously, the kid should change his name to Bertoli.... As for the other one, he is a French Fry Eating Machine. Think Joey Chestnut, but 50 pounds in weight. Anyway, on the actual review. Simply put, Llywelyn's is FANTASTIC! I couldn't name another place in town that could make the entire family happy. My Reuben was crazy amazing. Served perfectly, just the way would imagine. No nasty sauerkraut or soggy bread. Just perfect. And my wife absolutely loved her salad. For a vegetarian who only eats the finest of vegetables, this sure hit the spot. And, Captain Noodles gave the kids Mac and Cheese two thumbs up. And this is a kid who complains about everything. So, that is huge. And Mr. French Fried was equally happy. If it weren't for the Department of Family Services having issues with kids parties being hosted by a bar, I would be all for it. As for the service, our server was Brad J and he is simply amazing. He had the patience to deal with small (indecisive and somewhat messy) kids, and did it with a smile. He was extremely nice and and cheerful and, if Management is reading this, please give him reserved parking, a private jet, or something in between. Yes, he is that good! The decor was pretty cool as well. It reminded me of sitting in a traditional Irish pub somewhere in Europe. Very very cool! And, of course, we will most certainly be back!"

"The food was, as always, absolutely over the top outstandingly delicious. The chef is world class. The service was also, as always, absolutely stupendous… Excellent in every way. However, we were seated next to a table with 2 male and female couples, the 2 men of which were absolutely obnoxious individuals, with no sense of socially acceptable behavior. They were loud and obnoxious, and were three sheets to the wind inebriated. It appears as though they arrived in a state of drunkenness. That being said, the noise level and foul language reminded me of my time spent in the locker room of a rugby team. They were actually yelling as though they were in a sports bar. And when I say yelling, I mean at the very top of their lungs. It was an unmatched experience of inappropriate behavior at a restaurant known for fine dining. We will, however, return to Riel. I realize times are tough, and that the restaurant needs to make money… However I would’ve expected at least a 25 to 35% reduction in our tab given that that management expressed concerns as we were leaving about the guests who were out of control. That being said, there was no remuneration for our suffering. And suffering it was! As a word of advice to Reil management, I would suggest disciplining your guests when they are causing a social disturbance. If their parents did not teach them respect, then it is our responsibility as business owners and members of the community to put people in their place when it’s called for. It’s called social responsibility."

"Just like house cook! I was in Randall's restaurant COUNTLESS times, usually after church on Sunday afternoon, with people from the church. Our minister is very popular and with good reason. It's just an old fashion, family operated, home cooking ' type of place with modest prices, large portion sizes and good food. Nothing beautiful not the decor, not the friendly waiting staff, not the menu, and this is certainly reflected in the clientele who pack this place on Sundays. (There is a waiting area with twenty chairs, and there are usually people sitting in these chairs when we arrive... Only about everyone I know who lives in the Mon Valley, there are many, many times, so I feel quite privileged to have discovered the place not to be out of this area. The specials are the way to go, and most of us take our desserts home with us because there is no room anymore. As far as our favorites go, there are some. The cabbage rolls are made the old-fashioned way, and they are as good as you find everywhere. I am very impressed by the fried chicken that made it perfect. My son's favorite is the pork carving, and he really loves the shed potatoes. I also enjoy the Swiss steak. It did the way I like it, just like my mom did it earlier. And sometimes when I feel a little decadent, I get her delicious Jello salad as an appetizer. I know a lady who always orders the onion rings because they are brilliant and she just wants to share them with everyone. There are not one million decisions on the menu, but everything we had was well prepared and enjoyable, especially in view of the prices. Every time I went out of Randalls, I had a good feeling about the place and the people who run it. It is secret, and much of what's on the menu I think comfort food. If you drove 51 South and saw a little space with a full parking space that doesn't really see how much from the outside, then you have seen Randall 's. Be glad you did it!"

"I’m a big fan of Lebanese food from years spent calling on Toledo accounts. Toledo is the US home to Lebanese cuisine in my mind and Byblos is right at the top. Food-wise, Mary’z reminded me of Byblos. Hummus was outstanding, falafel sandwich included Lebanese pickle and radish, as I’ve come to like it. Taboulah was more tomato and citrus than barely and parsley, yum. The pitas were a bit wimpy but that’s a nitpick. They were supposed to allow bringing in wine with a corkage which we did, bringing in a fine bottle of aged Turley Petite Syrah. But I noticed others bringing in or bottles of fighting varietals and it made sense when they didn’t charge the corkage. Those folks were taking advantage of the fact that they hadn’t been charging corkage during the time when their wine and beer license was being approved. That happened last week and these folks either didn’t know or didn’t care so they brought in their two-buck Chuck despite there being multiple bottles of fairly priced, similar wines on the menu. Then I heard the manager was going to stop letting people bring in wine. No!!!! Fools abusing a corkage policy in-flux by bringing in wines is just ruining it for the people who have cellars and don’t mind paying corkage to have the privilege of using their cellar in this crazy state which forbids corkage when a full-liquor license is granted, even if the proprietor is okay with it. I hope Mary’z doesn’t go the no outside wine route. Rant aside, we will certainly return. I give it thumbs up. Llama Cafe may be looking at hard times with Mary’z down the street."

"Honestly, I never take the time to write reviews, but Screaming Carrots exceeds any star rating that can be offered. If I could deliver more than five stars, I would certainly. I moved from New Jersey a few months ago. I still learn the area and don't know many people. I cannot eat processed food or treat it with gluten, milk or too much sugar. It is quite difficult to find a restaurant that meets all these needs alone an environment that encapsulates such warm and lively personalities with such a request. When I first entered screaming carrots, I felt like family. Since my time to Florida, not even I have found a facility so friendly and welcoming. You really feel like every interaction is real by every member of the team because it is. The staff here deserves an increase, and when I find someone looking for food that lets her skin shine and dancing her taste buds, I will send her here. The aroma in which the kitchen and the seating area fills looses alone like the deserts they create in the house, and every bite of what you order is breath. The dishes served here are like nothing I've ever tried. Specials are listed daily. If you have absolutely questions about a choice, you will hesitate to answer your questions in detail and with passion. Since my first visit, I have returned several times, as this is one of my new ways of doing studio work as I am in school. You need to try the Chagaccino and all curry dishes/specialties when you visit! The cook ALWAYS makes them special and with love EVERY time. Thank you for so much that such an adventure every time I visit! You all make my days really bright when I enter! I work almost 7 days a week and drown in school work. Every visit feels like a breath of fresh air. I'm gonna fall in more than likely today."

"Wonderful menu, such interesting and flavourful dishes. I have tried multiple items on the menu and each was so beautifully presented and tasted absolutely delicious. French Onion soup is traditional and not salty, flavourful broth, and lots of cheese. Order the bruschetta with cheese, the tomatoes are chopped to just the right size and marinated along with onions, a little garlic parsley and a good size portion for you to dish on the bread as you see fit. Soup of the day has always been good too, all home made and never salty. Had the Dinner Crepes Parisiennes with ham, goat cheese, spinach and egg, served with home fries which are like a roast potato that has been sliced multiple times thinly and crisps up nice. Also served with fresh salad and fruit (peaches, strawberries, grapes) that are in a light sweet sauce and go so well with the cheese and flavours in the crepe. I 've also had the vegetarian crepe, fantastic and this was stuffed full of spinach, goat cheese, onion, avocado, and tomato with the same sides as above. My favourite dish on the menu is the Chicken Breaded Cutlet with peppercorn sauce. This is the most tender piece of chicken cutlet I have ever had, cut it with a fork. The breading is crisp and light. This dish is served with the same roast potato home fries, veggies (carrots, beans wrapped in bacon...amazing) and a salad. I don 't normally think of steak at a French restaurant other then the typical minute steak and frites, but this place has a great cut of sirloin beef they do either with bacon and goat cheese, or with a garlic portobello mushroom sauce. Save room for dessert, more crepes with choice of ice cream and filling (chocolate, peanut butter), toppings like bananas, strawberries, fruit, chocolate, Nutella, maple syrup. So happy we finally have a good restaurant in Pickering."
