"Carbs are my best friend so coming here was really a dream come true! I 've gotten pastries from their bakery before but this was my first time at the Manufactory. It 's a beautiful space--bright with high ceilings and tons of natural light. I came here with a friend on a Sunday morning and didn 't wait too long, although we did sit at the bar. I ordered the coddled eggs and an almond croissant, and my friend ordered the smoked mushroom tartine and morning bun. We also ordered the crispy potatoes to share. The Good: The star of the show here is obviously their bread and baked goods and I was not disappointed! The coddled eggs were runny and super savory from the roe, and the grilled bread with za 'atar seasoning was so good. I tried a bite of my friend 's tartine and it was delicious! I don 't think you could go wrong with any of their tartines. I loved my croissant which was flaky and soft, and my friend enjoyed her morning bun as well. She also got a loaf to-go and I regret not doing the same! The Could Be Better: I 'm guessing our order of crispy potatoes was perhaps the last of that batch because it had a lot of heavily seasoned, thinner potato skin pieces instead of meatier chunks which I would 've preferred. The seasoning tasted good, but without as much potato to balance it out, it was pretty salty. Tartine is an SF staple and for good reason. It is on the pricier side, so it 'll be an occasional treat for me when I 'm in the area!"
