"Just what we were looking for. All the restaurants were packed and we would have had to make reservations way in advance. We were visiting. Not familiar. Didn 't want a huge dinner. Just a knosh and a drink. Eating out traveling now is so incredibly difficult. You have to make a commitment before even finding a place. So... we have just about given up when we found Max 's. Perfect. We had martinis, a couple appetizers, it wasn 't annoyingly noisy (but it wasn 't a weekend so I 'm sure it, like so many places, sounds like 3rd grade recess by 8pm on a Friday night). Check it out if you 're in West Hartford Town Center. It 's not what you think: it 's like 4 square blocks of food, bars, food and food. It isn 't some prefab mall."
