"I have been going here for about 15 years. I knew they had new owners and went to try it. The service was great and everyone was very polite and quick on refills. However, the food is just not the same. The ingredients were fresh and good; but, in my opinion do not expect the same as before. I also ordered the fried rice as usual. It seemed okay at the top of the bowl; but, once I stirred it I noticed how greasy it was. I was able to pour out at least a tablespoon of oil into a soy sauce dish. Please do your best to improve(or maybe it was an off day). I will not be coming back; but, I never want a local business to fail."

"This is my son’s favorite restaurant; we go every year on his birthday. The chefs always go out of their way to make it a special night, doing silly tricks and making everyone laugh. Prices are very reasonable since the hibachi meals are plenty for dinner and lunch the next day!"

"Enjoyed the atmosphere here. Totally nice place to have a beautiful lunch outside. Personally I tried the Shocking California rolls as well as the Philadelphia roll. The fish was fresh. Aesthetically speaking the avacado was past its prime. Taste overall wasn't terrible or amazing just average. That said my girlfriend had the Chicken Teriyaki bento box and really enjoyed it. Definitely worth a try and I will say if possible sit outside it's a cool spot."

"HORRIBLE customer service, food is hit or miss. I DO NOT recommend this restaurant. I spend over $100 each time I order from Ichiban and even tip on a pick-up. They know me by name! Yet, I ordered 6 orders of yellowtail sashimi tonight that are usually large, thick pieces. I received nothing but shrivels of fish! When I called I received no restitution, merely rudeness form the owner. Where I come from, NYC, regular customers who spend good money are treated with respect; not the case here. In addition, the miso was awful and my friend threw it down the drain and the salmon sushi was fishy, in other words, old and not suitable for raw consumption. As a chef, I warn you about eating here! BAD FOR YOUR HEALTH AND HORRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE! SHOULD BE SHUT DOWN!"

"Decided to check this place out since I had a $5 off coupon from GrubHub. They a 3 roll lunch combo for $16.50, and they offer quite a few rolls that you don't typically see on lunch combos.I went with the spicy tuna, negi hamachi, and crazy roll. It all tasted fairly fresh. Unfortunately the spicy tuna is really bland. The negi hamachi was by far the best of the 3.With so many great sushi places in the area, I don't think I'll order from this place again. But if you're able to get the $5 coupon I'd say it's worth checking out."

"9/2/22 update: A sad state of affairs. We order and had it delivered. Something happened that I can't explain. The food, almost overnight, has gotten horrible. The menu is different, and the dishes that are still on the menu are totally different. Checkout my new pictures. The seaweed salad is a container of lettuce with a small amount of seaweed. The cucumber salad was similar, lettuce with plain cucumbers with a strange ginger dressing. Next up, the asparagus beef rolls were half raw, as you can seein the picture. The sushi rice tasted different making the sushi not taste good. And, hopefully you've read this far becausehere's where we stopped and threw the meal out. There was a bug in my Hawaiian roll. It did not look like it was fromHawaii. Must say, we will not be eating here again. We are all so disappointed because this was one of our favoriteplaces. Update: I guess I go here to much. They recognized me from before. Still great service still great food. Prices haveincreased, but where haven't they. Our new favorite sushi! Delivery time is sometimes long, I guess we aren't the only ones whothink it good. The tamago came presented like 2 hearts. Clever. Prices are great and quality is too. The aloha and ca rolls areespecially tasty. I've only had takeout, so I'm not sure about dining in the restaurant. Update: Went for lunch during theweek. The restaurant has a nice feel to it. It's comfortable inside and they have a few tables outside on the sidewalk/ in thestreet. Service was good, it wasn't busy when we were there and the staff was attentive, but not overly. And if course the foodwas terrific and we'll presented."

"I have not experienced a restaurant like the Samurai Sushi Bar in many years. I will defiantly come back. The food is incredible and very authentic. Even the wine and beer list was great. If you want to experience a Japanese restaurant this is the place to go."

"Forgot to post this on Wednesday night. Me and a best friend went there for dinner. It is his 1st time there I've been there before. The restaurant is small and it's fine. You can see the chefs making the sushi. The music was low but you can still hear it. For starters we had drinks. I had the pomegranate martini. My friend had the mango margarita. Both drinks were amazing. Then he had a Japanese beer. We order edamame as a starter. The main course we both ordered is Boston Maki (Tuna and Avocado) it was amazing. He orders the Fire Dragon Maki (Tempura Shrimp, Avacado Wrapped w/tuna and topped w/spicy shrimp, scallions, and sweet sauce). I order Dragon Mski (Tempura Shrimp, topped w/unagi, avocado, and unagi sauce without the mayo). The chef's special was Toro (Fatty Tuna). The service was great. Our server was nice and friendly. For sure we will be back."

"DELICIOUS! A small hidden gem in Needham — definitely recommend the Mai Tai if you are more on the sweet side. I will definitely be back! 8/31/21 Update: Sour Amaretto is my whole time favorite! Salt Peoper Shrimp is also amazing!"

"they are on the hill. very disappointed about the service and eating. the service was painfully slow, the steak was overboiled on one side, and not what I ordered. but after waiting for an incessant time, I just wanted to eat. the sides seemed like they were beaten up. willy used to be my place. not sure what is changed (own, personal,) but I will not go back."

"I'm curious. there were bones during the fish, which is not normal. either the cook did not cut it right or it was not important to remove the bones. it smells and tastes fishy and old, and there was something panko between the rice and fish on a piece nitriri (I have ordered nothing crispy)."
